I've seen so many legitimate questions about Islam that confront controversial issues, and are supported by hard evidence and fats. I've also noticed that many Muslims are EQUALLY critical of Christianity, and ask many questions about it.

Why is it that so many Muslims AVOID answering legitimate questions by saying...

"You are a racist!"
"Stop spreading lies!"
"Stop hating!"
"You don't know what you are talking about!"

And then they report you for "abuse" in an attempt to CENSOR anything that sheds light on what might be WRONG with Islam.

Is this a double standard? Why can't anyone question Islam without being labeled as an ignorant racist hate monger?

They just throw a prepared 3 pager of the best verses(minus all the bad ones) from the quran in defense of everything.

Sometimes it seems like they barely understand what they are quoting...perhaps because it is so non-sensical...how can they understand it.

The question you have to ask yourself is how many questions that are asked today are based upon truly wanting to know the answers. Most of the questions today that are put forth are more like accusations and inflammatory statements rather than questions. Today there is this whole hoopla about the veil. What has that got to do with the government or people. That is a personal choice.I would like to ask you a question. If today a women wears a mini skirt in front of me are you telling me that I or a government has a right to ask or rather a right to tell the women not to wear it. Where is the double standard now that you are talking about. Also talking about the current media scenario I am allowed to make fun of Prophet Mohamed but I am not allowed to say anything about Jews. All the religions teach their followers about peace but across the board people from all religions seem to have forgotten that. Muslims, Christians, Jews and all other religions.

it depends on why you've decided to criticise. if its just for the sake of criticism then whats the point. if it's to open up a dialogue and help solve issues then i'm sure many muslims who think along the same lines would be up for listening. You need to make a distinction between the religion islam and muslim people, the two can sometimes be very different as SOME muslims have distorted the truth of islam.

And you know what? That sh!t is never going to change. Ignorance is like a disease. It just grows and grows. I total agree with your logic. I'm so sick of it! This why war starts and it doesn't necessarily have to be in some desert or in the fields or jungle. This kind of crap going on starts wars right here in the US. A battle could breakout any given time in the middle of the streets. The media doesn't care they just want ratings. You got people who don't want to get involved, they just close their doors to the issues and then you have the politicians who just sit and judge but make no attempt to help stop it. Sure they give speeches but they have so much on their plate until they can't even prioritize anymore. It's pathetic!

Every religion has inconsistencies and issues that don't hold up to scrutiny. No group, Muslim or otherwise likes to be attacked for it. If you want to know what the Muslim religion believes, start by reading the Koran and any of the countless textbooks interpreting it in a political and social context.

Much as I enjoy time spent on Yahoo Answers... as a source of good reliable information, YA is about as useful as a condom machine in the Vatican.

I for one am not trying to be critical of Christians or Christianity. In fact as a Muslim, I am commanded to respect Christians and Jews. Most of us are not trying to avoid legitimate questions by saying anything like that. Is it hard however for many of us to come on here day after day and see our Prophet reviled and called names, to be branded a terrorist because someone is believing the media's portrayal of my religion instead of investigation for themselves what the Koran actually says. I am a western woman, educated, Caucasian and yet I have been called names here, been told that i am an uneducated idiot just because of my choice of religion. I have reported many people for abuse but never for having a different viewpoint, however swearing, making fun of my prophet is not acceptable. I have not seem any Muslim on here making fun of Jesus. I have not seen them making fun of the Pope. I have not seen them swearing at Christians and Jews. So why is it acceptable on here for others to say things about the Prophet Muhammed(pbuh)? Calling him names and saying things like they do? Maybe that is why they feel that so many of them are hating.

Islam is an evil religion that feeds on hatred censure and death. Its founder was a child molester who coveted power and converted whole countries at the tip of the sword. I am not a catholic, but I am thankful for my catholic ancestors who stood up to these hordes of blood thirsty Muslims during the crusades. As Christians we are told we should be sorry for the crusades, and I do not doubt that Europeans committed atrocities, but they saved Europe from a gigantic evil inspired by Lucifer himself called Islam. Yes Islam is the greatest evil in the world today.

Muslims are not the only ones doing this. I've had several legitimate questions and answers Y!Anked simply because someone didn't like them, even though they were completely within the community guidelines.

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The truth is always open to scrutiny.
How else can it be known to be truth.

However a blame game results in shame,
And notably to both sides of any sides war.
Perhaps to both scape-goats & dumb-sheep.
Perhaps the 'side effect' is destruction them all.
Perhaps good reason to come from among them.

Perhaps it's not about Christians vs Muslims.
Perhaps it's all about Law Law -vs- His Grace.
And perhaps the end of the shew already written:
(except in NIV Bibles: leave out the grace us end)

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Christians do the same thing...because it is such a personal connection that if anything threatens it they immediately go on the defensive with those coined terms. It is unfortunate that people are so ignorant, unable to see both sides, to understand why the question is asked but...what are you gonna do?
