Halloween to thanksgiving is the only time I see them

Here in California I normally only SEE them in the store during "Harvest" season... August- November. Though sometimes I'll see baby-pumpkins year round in produce department.

They're just the last of the summer crops to be harvested in early fall... and they are really grown for THAT season.

In new england you can get pumpkins from like june til november. once the frost stops they grow and vice versa. However I bet with some investigative searches you'd be able to find greenhouse ones online during the winter.
