Act 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation.
Gen 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

You can't.
If you believe in Adam and Eve and you've made the assumption that they were white then you can't explain different races.
But we've moved past Adam and Eve now though haven't we? With the Darwin thing and... you know - science.

Only fools would assume that Jesus, Abraham, and Adam would be white.
I saw a painting of the Last Supper where the disciples were all quite dark-skinned (as was Jesus).
I do not subscribe to the religion, but I can respect an artist's desire to portray Christ as realistically as possible.
Just to throw in a wrench, as the different tribes moved across the world and had a change in diet and climate, they evolved into what you see today (pale Nordic, dark-skinned Arabs, etc.).
It's not really a good justification of different cultures and races, but if you take the assumption of Genesis as being valid, then any answer sounds sane in comparison.

Oh, good question. I hope someone can explain this ...
I don't care to know if they were white. That's not important. But I do wonder how the assumption came about that they were white. When it's clearly not stated in the bibilical text anywhere. Although, Genesis 2 verses 10-14 covers the location of the Garden of Eden a bit.

Yes I do believe in the adam and eve thing, quite happily. I don't suppose they were white, they could have been green for all the difference it makes.
The Bible tells us quite clearly that God scattered men all over the earth and gave them different languages, when they started to build the tower of babel. It's in genesis.chapter 11. The different cultures obviously grew from this.

Hmmm, don't the Bible believers have some explaining to do! Apparently, God created the world, and within a week we had a naughty couple and a load of plants and water, day and night etc. But apparently our naughty couple must have hid in a cave for 758 million years while amoebas, reptiles and dinosaurs roamed the Earth. When they thought it was safe, they came out of the cave not having aged a day, and ultimately gave birth to every race under the sun. "If the Bible says it, it must be true" - you just have to twist it an awful lot to become plausible!

I've never assumed they were white but of Arabic coloring and such cause the Garden of Eden was they believe in the Iraqian area. We have different cultures and races because mankind a one time were all the same race and language and became proud thinking they could unite togeather and build a tower into Heavan and be like God. God saw they were out of control and divided them up into different peoples sending them to live in different countries with different languages evolving into different races.

I think it lies more in Noah and his sons than in Adam and Eve. In Hebrew, the name Ham means 'a darkened one', and his son, Canaan, means 'a black one'. This possibly is a refference to where the beginning of different skin tones may have come from.
Of course if Ham was a dark one, then the others must have been lighter which wouldlead you to believe that Noah and His other two sons were lighter in color.

If Adam and Eve both had dominant and recessive genes that determine the skin color (multiple genes determine this and other racial charactistics), they would be of a medium colored skin tone.
Most of their off spring would have also been medium colored skin, but some of their children would have gotten only the dominant genes from both parents, making them dark-skinned, and some of their children would have gotten only the recessive genes from both parents, making them light-skin people.
If a child who received only dominant genes (dark skin) grew up and married (had children with) someone else with only dominant genes, they could ONLY produce dark skinned children.
So, if people who looked alike began to congrigate together and migrate to different regions (or even if only one or a few couples did this), it would not be long until there were distince races in different parts of the world.

I can't imagine the ethnicity of Adam and Eve. I believe that they were given the genetic makeup to present the fact that they were made in the image of God (having much diversity). Once these genes were combined and recombined, we were eventually given the many races. At the tower of Babel, after the flood, God confused their speech. This seperated men from men and created many cultures of different languages. This would explain the flood "legends" in most cultures with many similarities.
