First of all. You definitely want to distinguish the difference between Wicca and Witchcraft. Wicca is an actual religion, which would require you to convert or change your entire view of God (you appear to be a Christian. Forgive me if you are not.). Witchcraft is more or less the art of magick. I am a Christian Witch. All of my beliefs are Bible based. I view the Bible as the only source of ultimate truth. While there are some groups of Christian Wiccans, I do not entirely agree with their philosophies as they worship many gods and goddesses. My own personal belief is that Witchcraft, when practiced appropriately, does not contradict the Bible in any way. I believe God is the author of all magick. He designed the universe in such a way to give us access to these elements and energies so I would assume, just as in the rest of creation, that we were meant to use them in order to benefit ourselves and more importantly God's kingdom.

I would recommend, just as many others have, that you read as much as possible and find whatever practices and beliefs that feel the most comfortable to you. This is surely NOT something you want to rush into or treat like a fad. I would also advise against practicing any magick until you are absolutely sure and comfortable with what you believe. Good luck on your journey.

Theres nothing wrong with witchcraft it is a very intresting subject and a beutiful 1 aswell.Id watch out for neo pagans they tend to lean towards the extreme but other than that its a great subject.Watch the original wicker man not the new 1 the old 1 is far better it all seems so very natural.Research through the centurys 12th and 13th i think also research the megalithic period.Witchcraft has excisted since time began.Excalibur is a great film it borders on witchcraft not just the nights of the round table.Good luck in your research.

No it is not against the idea of a god, if your religious then it is against all other religions, however, I believe in a higher being, but not a per say god. Its beyond the conscience and I wont do any harm to anyone. The only thing you should do so young is to learn about it. Don't say your gonna wait, learn while you can .. your young so you can absorb all you can. Learn the Wiccan read and live by it weather you believe in a god or not, there isn't anything wrong with learning and studying, once you think it might truly take your interest then practice. Personally I don't do magic or rituals or potions, I know karma and how it works, I practice love others and love thy self, harm none and call apon your karma, do nothing wrong and wrong will not fallow you. Email / IM me at Violettelillyrose81@yahoo.com I am Wiccan and I have plenty to share. I wont try to convert you, if what you seek is what I know, I will be obliged to help you!

Wicca is not against God; don't let the people who call themselves Christians tell you any different, they have been deceived by their fear and ignorance. I would HIGHLY suggest you not join any groups until you are much older--or not at all. I'm 21 and have never been part of any coven.

The best way to get started on the Path of the Craft is to read books, but the right ones. Avoid "teen witch" books. Instead, read books by Raymond Buckland, Scott Cunningham, Ophelia, Amber K, DJ Conway, et al. I've found that an easy way to tell good books is by what is on the spine: if it's an ankh, it's usually worth reading (the different symbols are different publishing companies).

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line, though my beliefs are unorthodox in comparison to standard Wicca. Such is the case when you explore every possibility in the search for truth!

Blessed be

Go to any bookstore (except for Christian-owned ones obviously) and go to the New Age section. There are tons of books about Wicca. Look for informational ones first before you get into the spells and tarot cards and such.

Wiccan beliefs are different from Christian beliefs, but if you read into the background, it's not evil at all. In fact, they have some similarities to many religions out there right now.

You do not have the devil in you, and you are not an evil person, no matter what people tell you. In order to learn more and not be persuaded off the path, I would not tell many people (friends and family) until you are more knowledgable about the subject. You will get some anti-Wiccan views thrown at you. Trust me.

Do what you want to do, believe what you want to believe.

By the way...Wicca is not black magic or evil magic. Wiccans believe we only do spells for good, not for evil or personal gain.

Wait for it...... the xtians will tell you youre going to hell. Of course, since Wiccans don't believe in the existence of hell, they've got a problem.

Try reading about the subject first. Books by Stewart Farrar, Lois Bourne, Alex Sanders are all worth reading as a starting point.

As for American witchcraft. It's best forgotten. Most of it is either infantile (aimed at 25 year old children, or Buffy fan clubs. Neither have anything to do with the European craft known as Wicca (or more probably just witchcraft. Wicca being a relatively modern name). Also, forget love potions etc. Remember that first and foremost, it is a religion.

Regarding your addition, of course it's not a sin. In fact, Wiccans believe that they are followers of the true religion. Behave properly and respectably and you're on the right path.

Its very healty to want to question the world and find wisdom. But please be careful with groups, you are 13 and you could be vunerable as some are into the dark side of wiccan and may put you in a dangerous situation.
Do your homework on groups and never go anywhere or do anything your not sure of. If you do go somewhere to a group let someone you know where you'll be. Many wiccan groups are wonderful but please be sure before you sign up. You can safely find out about witchcraft through books and websites before you deside on anything. All the best to you on your journey.

Yes it is bad and yes witchcraft is a sin.

Consider, Deuteronomy18/10-12 ....a witch.......For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord.... & 1 Samuel 15/23, For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness ia as iniquity and idolatry.

Take care for you could seriously damage yourself.

Why do you want to follow such things and reject God when He would would give you so much more and bless you more than you can imagine?

As you've learned through your reading, Wicca is an alternative means of looking at life in general. The one woman about whom you read who dresses up in outlandish costumes and plays about with "potions" is not practicing witchcraft but is practicing a business. She's in the business of selling her nostrums, and the costumery is simply a means of advertising.

You will need to read a variety of books on the topic. You shouldn't have to buy them all; they should be available in your county library. Look for them under the heading "New Age". Some librarians are afraid of legal challenges and so may attempt to conceal such literature from one as young as you. That really should not be necessary, but there are some rather rigid people out there who at times wield sufficient power that they can force such behavior upon librarians and others. In those cases, you'll just have to use your ingenuity in order to find and read the material.
And no: it is not a sin. Whether or not you choose to follow an alternative lifestyle or alternative approach to spiritual matters is up to you. Many young folks explore alternatives such as Wicca and decide that it's not for them. That's okay. It's also okay if they choose to abandon Christianity or any other faith and go with Wicca or neo-paganism. Just be very circumspect and don't flaunt it while still a child. Too many adults are likely to choose to take it upon themselves to "straighten you out" and that can be very uncomfortable. I actually had to bring charges against a local pastor who thought he should step in and force my eldest daughter to abandon her investigation of neo-paganism. The fool went to jail before the message finally got through: leave my family alone, buster! Anyway: you're a bright young person; just take your time and listen and read carefully. A lot of new-age philosophy is actually quite shallow and even silly - but not all. It will not hurt for you to keep on reading and learning.

Learn what you can learn. There are real live Witches who visit my blog every day. Is Wicca against God? Hmmm, well that kinda depends on your concept of God. Many people within the Pagan range of beliefs do not take well to Chistianity per se; something about if they float they are guilty and if they drown they are innocent. Then of course, nobody I know likes to be burned alive. Either way, death by accusation is not right in any sense.
Age 13 - Hmmm. Better to learn first at the Library. My sister is Wiccan. Visit my blog if you want and I could maybe field a question for you but at 13, there are a lot of things you may not be ready for yet. Ask your parents to help you research it. You are way too young to join a coven in my opinion.
I personally would like for you to learn about Jesus but then we run into the same problem. Some churches are not very good at all.
