You may be blowing a fuse..or the Iron or outlet could be defective.
try another outlet..and if it still does it try another appliance.
If the electricty is fine then my guess would be that the iron is broken.

Irons use LOTs of amperage. You are quite probably overloading the circuit! Find a circuit that can handle 20 amps. :-)=
