I have Photoshop 7 and have been using the contact sheet creator. I have been burning my thousands of photos onto DVD and creating contact sheets for each DVD so I can find my photos easier. The problem is, some of my DVDs have other file types on them. I could not find anywhere to tell photoshop to just thumbnail the jpgs and nothing else. If it finds a file type it doesn't like, it will either pop up a message that requires my attention (can't sit in front of it all day) or PS will crash. I tried Google's Picasa and can get it to make contact sheets on my HD but not off my DVD drive. Is there a good program out there that can handle making contact sheets for DVD with 4GB of photos, ignore other file types on the DVD and possibly create a searchable library for my DVDs?

The attached list includes generic programs available to the public which extracts files in batches from HDD, CD and DVD.

The list will require sorting to locate the batch programs. (These sites were retrieved adhoc.) Hopefully, some of them will meet your purpose.

Was there any preference in extracting file formats other than the typical JPEG, TIFF, TGA, BMP ?
