I was watching a show on PBS about the middle east and the Muslims. In it they showed where a large quantity of animal sacrifices were being made to their god, part of some holy days.
Later I watched the famous videos of some of the beheadings being done to western hostages. And it was the exact same ritual, same knife, same chanting, the hostages even screamed like the animals as their throats were being hacked.
Do you think these Muslims think they are giving human sacrifice? Is this spoken about by other Muslims? And if so, why do you think even the most right wing american media won't say it?

I'm sure mainstream Muslims are as sickened as anyone else. But if you have seen the videos, and seen Muslim animal sacrifice, it looks way too similar. Do you think these particular Muslims think they are giving human sacrifice?

I'm a country boy and know that meat doesn't start out cut into steaks and wrapped in plastic. Any slaughterhouse is not going to be pretty, but not every killing looks like a sacrificial ritual.
But what if the Jews gave some Arab prisoners the death sentence and it looked way too much like the ritual for Kosher slaughter? What if the Mexicans sentenced an Arab prisoner to death and it looked like a reenactment of Aztec human sacrifice? I'm asking do you think these particular Muslims think they are giving human sacrifice?

No these hostages are not human sacrifices. And the sacrifices that are made are done so that the meat can be donated to the poor. This is why we make sacrifices. This is not a sacrifice where an animal is being killed for God and it is a waste.
Killings like the beheadings are murder, there is nothing sacrificial about it, it is wrong and all Muslims know it.

that is so sick. But I suppose Americans have committed many war crimes too; purposely killing innocent civilian families, raping teen girls and eewww why is everyone so wrong in these wars? We shoulda never been there, only get the dictator and leave. Btw, you've been watching too much media and it is definately not showing both sides of the spectrum. Please read the Koran, not with prejudice and out of context verses; but plz just open it and learn. Whether you care at all for converting or not just try because even if you don't it still promotes tolerance, respect, and understanding. I'm a Muslim and I read the Bible. Again these so called Muslims who sacrifice humans are terrorist because of their extremist thinking. And no that is not how Islam teach and preach the religion!
Example, Asked yourself this question,
If a teacher teach the student the right way to draw a horse and the student instead decided to draw a unicorn. Who is at fault here? the teacher or the student?
About sacrificing animal i think that it's one of their religious customs in order to commemorate the history between Abraham and his son. You can asked fellow muslims about this.
And if you find it to be very disgusting, how they do the sacrifices, if you want to know that is how the other factories of meat slaughtering is doing their jobs. After all we do consume meats and we need to kill this animals right?
By the way i found out from my friends that this sacrifced animal meats are later given to the poor, the needy or those who require them.
What we dont know dont we prejudge too soon. Be open minded and be open to learn about other customs and religions. Judge ourselves before we judge onto others.

Well first off, any group who would revert to such barbaric means basically speaks for itself! These people are definitely desperate for something, we just haven't totally figured out what it is!
Secondly, this has more to do with instilling fear in the enemy than anything else. It garners media to which we are all aware of the consequences developed there!
I personally think they actually believe they can convert the worlds people to Islam but again, these are the extremist we are talking about and is not the general consensus of the Islamic people! If that were not the case I don't think they would be slaughtering their own on Allah's sacred ground! He told them to rid the world of "infidel's to which we have apparently fallen into that category because of our political ties with Israel! Again, we are talking about "extremist" who have taken on their own interpretations and agenda! They are basically a menace to the human race! I also believe this has nothing to do with any "sacrifical" ritual if you will!

but islam orders us to be mercy to animals, Muslims are commanded to do so in a manner that causes the least amount of fright and suffering possible. The Prophet Muhammad said: {When you slaughter an animal, do so in the best way. One should sharpen his knife to reduce the suffering of the animal.}
and he also said that{A man walking along a path felt very thirsty. Reaching a well, he descended into it, drank his fill, and came up. Then he saw a dog with its tongue hanging out, trying to lick up mud to quench its thirst. The man said, “This dog is feeling the same thirst that I felt.” So he went down into the well again, filled his shoe with water, and gave the dog a drink. So, God thanked him and forgave his sins.} The Prophet was asked, “Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?” He said: {There is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human.}
so i think i explained the meaning of sacrifice , and even to be mercy to animals even we kill them or not.
My only puzzle, when I read your question, was that I asked myself: "Why didn’t anyone--ever--regard Thanksgiving’s turkey as being a turkey massacre?!"

What did Abraham do to his son when he was asked to sacrifice him ?
Are you aware of the fact that in many parts of non-muslim world like India where Hindus are used to sacrifice buffaloes, other animals and even humen being before dieties ?
Who butchered Jews in Germany ? Do we have to conclude that Christianity is responsible for this crime ?
Do we have to hold Christians responsible for all the world wars and people killed during the wars ?
What are your views about killings of hundreds of muslims by the crusaders ?

Your theory to relate Islam with terrorism is far from truth. The Al-quaida and other terror outfits do not represent Islam.

as someone said ,in animal sacrifices d meat is given to d poor.&it is not allowed in islam to kill innocent people.but really, tell me how much they (extremeist) killed as compare to how much people bush killed in Iraq& afghanistan,etc.so many innocent little children,old people,etc& what was d excuse, huh,1 twintowers that he himself destroyed compared to d many innocent muslim countries that he also destroyed!

When i was stationed in Somalia a few years back, I watched them kill camels everyday. Absolutely brutal behavior. Its a learned trait
