If people go to Heaven or Hell for all eternity, what happens when a person who dies leaves behind the love of his/her life, who later dies and goes to Hell.

Wouldn't that make the person in Heaven's life rather Hellish?

The question is being asked as if the person that dies and goes to Heaven knows the other person goes to Hell. This is looking at Heaven in a human manner, it is a Spiritual place; therefore, we do not know where someone else may or may not go. We hope to see our loved ones in Heaven, but we can not tell time in Heaven.

Well it depends on who you listen too. first off, the rewrites of religion are trying to say that hell is a mythical place, and that it is only separation from God. The Bible says it is a place that is hot, with gnashing of teeth, for their worm shall not die and neither shall their fire be quenched: and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

I also believe that once in Heaven, only the good in life will be remembered and I think you will not remember those who are not there. I have listened to many different preachers growing up, and read many books on the subject and trust me, I am no professional in this. I am giving my opinion for what its worth.

The god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob doesn't force himself on us. He is there and because man is the only animal that has reason as part of his " higher intellect", man can either accept him or deny him. Its your choice. I Love it when people say " a loving caring God wouldn't send people to Hell. He doesn't, you do that yourself.

That's a good one. But why would a person that is good and let into Heaven be in love with someone that is not seen as good and ends up in Hell?

We will experience grater joys in Heaven than we have ever felt on earth.

Some people think that we will not remember the bad things of this life. I think that we will remember them, but that we will have the proper outlook about them. Like the fact that your spouse chose not to do what it took to get to Heaven, unlike your dedication and love to God.

Good point. I think of heaven and hell as states of mind in the here and now. Eternity has nothing to do with it.

No, we are given complete love and complete happiness in Heaven.
All misery and despair is washed away.
This is the thought that keeps me up at night too.
There are people I love that deny Christ. We are told that when we die IF we have not shared the message of God with others WE WILL see them cast into the firey Hell that they will spend eternity in. HOWEVER God will wipe the tears from our eyes and we have NO memory of that image thereafter.
SO IMPORTANT to live for Christ and share His word.

In that theory I suppose it would. Guess it would depend on why that person went to hell in the first place. It would have to be pretty bad though, wouldn't it? In that case wouldn't the person in heaven feel bad, but also feel justice has been served?
