Absolutely. What smoking does is seal in the flavors and all nutrients. Some of the Omega 3 fish oils will be lost as with regular cooking but the majority will remain in the meat of the fish.

Where i come from, Salmon are plentiful and easy to buy locally in the stores or even straight off the boats from the Naitve Fishery. The salmon most smoked is Chum salmon, which is a large, rather untasty and unappetising slamon until it's smoked. Seldom do they smoke the nicer types of salmon, like Sockeye, Coho, or Pink.
As for the nutrients, I have no idea, but as yuo know, with any smoking or bar-b-queing, they say that is carcinigetic (cancer causing).
But if you like smoked salmon, go for it. I think its a very tasty and portable source of good protiens.

the raw one(FRESH ONES OF COURSE), are the best. dip them in some wasabi and soy sauce and there u go! a tasty and nutritious food!
PS. i understand westerners dont take raw food, so the next best thing might be a regular one. dont smoke it coz its somewhat not so healthy.
