Have you had it?

Would you recognise it?

Do you know anybody who has caught this mite?

Or don't they say?

A friend of mine had it at the beginning of the year. Apparently its not as uncommon as you'd think. She was told she probably caught it from a hotel bed she stayed in (nice hey?). She had to do this 24 hour all over body cream/wash thing. THEN apparently it had got in to her furniture, so they had to cover all that up too with black binliners to kill the mite. THEN her flatmate caught it. It looked like tiny little lines under the skin. Mate, it was gross. I tried to be supportive, but didn't really want her staying over at mine whilst she was so contangious. Don't think I'd recognise it unless someone specifically showed me their skin. She didn't tell hardly anyone - it sounds hideous doesn't it? And NO thankfully have not had it -

When I lived in rented accomodation a guy in the other room had it, basically its a tiny parasite that bury's itself near the glands on the skin. Apart from it being very itchy it doesn't do any particular long term harm.

As soon as I heard I was straight to the GP and plastering myself with some solution that stank. Luckily I was spared from getting it but it can be very infectious and can be carried by body to body contact, bedsheets, towels etc etc.

Mega contageous. My best mate had it and she had little red dots all over her legs and wrists and she was constantly scratching. Even though i assumed not to have touched her, i still had to go to the chemist and smother myself in treatment as a just in case.

Generally speaking tho i dont think people tell anyone. The bloke she caught it off only told her bout 2 months of them sleeping with each other - his conscience got the better of him.
