How do you delete photos from an apple/white. 30gb IPOD?

Is it possible to delete it from the Ipod itself or do you need to connect it to your computer to delete any of the info?

When your ipod is plugging into a computer you should be able to find it on something like My Computer and just find the file and delete it, on the ipod there should be a menu button or something before or after the image is opened, there should be a delete option.
