I took one suggestion and ran scan in safe mode, but no threats detected, no objects cleaned and no objects detected. I also scan the computer at least once a week, and all it does is remove some cookies.

Run a full system scan. and check your settings... OR... get Nortons. But the bottom line you need to take control and now how to set it up.

You've got a very nasty infection that McAffe can't properly remove.

If you want an easy solution, reboot into safe mode (keep hitting F8 just before you see the Windows logo screen). Choose Safe Mode, no networking. Have McAffe run a full scan of your system and let it delete everything. Reboot and see if that fixes the problem.

If not, or if you simply want a better AV, go get NOD32 from http://www.eset.com or Kaspersky as they are far better.
