The apostle Paul once said that we're all "APT (or, liable) to sin" and that "we die daily", meaning that because we're Christian doesn't mean we're immune to attack from Satan. We're told that we as Christians have to "Mortify (literally KILL) the deeds of the flesh." We have to put to death out old ways and live every day thereafter for God. We don't have to seek repentance every day, but we do need a solid relationship with God in order to withstand the Devil's advances. Look at Job! A fine, true man of God who was tempted and tortured on all sides, yet never turned his back on God. But, had he done or said something later in life directly in contradiction with God's Word or way of doing things, he'd be right back in the sin he was born with. Satan never gives up, so we can't either. If "once saved, always saved" were possible, then all anyone would have to do would be to say a "sinner's prayer" or something and be saved! There'd be no need for the institution of the Church and future generations would only have to repeat the same thing somewhere down the line. There'd be no worship of God and a very robotic existence alongside Him for everything would be done by teaching and not free will.

Once saved always saved is true. That passage was a test of discipleship. Each man said they would follow him but first they had something more improtant to do. Now lets go to the scriptures and show how once saved always saved is true.

When we become saved we become In Christ.
Ephesians 2:13- But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were afar off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Now if I am in Christ I am also in my Father's hand
Jhn 10:30 I and [my] Father are one.

If I am in Gods hand as well then no man can pluck me out.
John 10:29- My Father which gave them me , is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Note: Read Romans 8:35-39 to long to type.

Now that nothing can take me out then lets seal those two hands together.
Ephesians 1:13- In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth , the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believe , ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise .

Note: Ok if I am in Christ and in my Father's hand and sealed by the Holy Spirit how do I get out. If someone says they can leave well if they can leave then they wasn't saved if first place. Salvation belongeth to the Lord. Its not mine. Read all those scriptures, some I quoted and some I didnt. Sorry so long but I had to show you what God says about it.

Jesus said it would be better that you were never born then to know me and turn away from me.

but it doesn't matter how far away you get from God it is only one step back.

we to ask forgiveness daily. God will not listen to our prayers until we have first ask forgiveness of our sins.

Sin builds a wall between us and our Father God in heaven repenting removes that wall we can not go through life thinking i have been saved so i can sin all i want

Christ makes us a new person one who will not want to sin a person who craves after the word for the word of God is food for our Spirit.

And Matt.24:13 states:"He that endures to the end, will be saved." and
John 3:36:"He that exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life,he that disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him"
The Bible does not teach automatic salvation.

I was actually discussing this with a friend last night and it lead to an interesting question -- when I was Christian, my faith in Christ as my Lord and Savior was absolute and for years without question. I was 'saved'. I'm now an atheist. Do those years still count if it turns out there's a god after all, or did I lose my salvation?

And those who just read this and thought, "well, you weren't really faithful to begin with then," congradulations, you just commited the big sin -- you've judged my heart, which is for God and God alone according to your book.

I suppose so however you ought to maintain the notion as good. If you get stored and sin simply to sin then that's now not well however sure every body sins on account that it's human. You cannot cross into figuring out that you simply plan to sin always on account that you suppose you'll pray and be forgiven, whilst you ask forgiveness you ought to be honest. I do feel as soon as stored continuously stored.

God doesn't make mistakes, so yes, once saved, and given the Holy Spirit of God, always saved.

There are many who merely think they are saved, but they aren't. They are easy to spot on here, they say things contrary to God's Word, especially about homosexuality.

No, after receiving salvation, we should keep on living a life of holiness so that the Lord's name shall be glorified.
Phil. 2:12 says "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,". Therefore, u shuld always work on being saved. No one is ever too saved. Its an ongoing process.

Luke 9:62 is not talking about salvation it is talking about discipleship, and the plough that you are putting your hand to is following Christ. I
f you want to read about salvation try John 10:26 "But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. 27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 " My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 "I and the Father are one."

from extensive study and bible college teachings, my outcome is no.

but heres how it works.

once you are saved, that is it. there is nothing you can do bad enough (sin) to be unsaved.
BUT
you still have free will. if you choose to turn away from God. and by that, i dont mean backsliding... i mean you make a deliberate decision, to say "God, i want you out of my life, i dont want to have anything to do with you and i dont want Your Spirit within me" you know you actually tell God to get lost, then you forfeit your salvation, because God has given you free will, and if you dont want salvation, He cant give it to you.

so yes, you can loose your salvation. but not by accident. not by sinning too much, not by backsliding, not by anything except a specific and deliberate choice.

but once u know God... who on earth wants to do that?!!??!!??!
