Any help I'd be so appreciative. Thank you.

yes, there is a famous actor, i think it is james earl jones
who didn't speak for years as a child. it is usually temporary.
but remember persuading and cajoling probably won't work.
i have known people who decided to be mute as an experiment in life. just be patient, show love and wait for the person to be able to speak.

By speechless, it's unclear if the ability of not being able to talk were brought on by possible illness after the shock or trauma or if you mean the person was shocked and/or traumatized and no longer speaks. Part one of my statement: Trauma and/or shock can bring on illness that renders someone speechless. This is usually temporary. As for trauma and/ or shock alone, someone would have to know what brought one or the other on and how long the problem has lasted. That can help determine whether it's a temporary thing. Talk to a doc.

yes, shock and trauma both can. it depends on a few things including the person for how long it lasts. the more serious the trauma/shock is the worse it can affect your speech. it is best to also discuss this with a doctor or look up trauma/shock symptoms or side effects in google.

Yes trauma can bring on speechlessness. Psycho therapy may help or it may just take time for the person to deal with the trauma.
