It could be a decent buy if you plan on doing the restoration work yourself.

The 1967 Bug is actually a very unique year. !966 was the last of the older versions of VW.1968 was the beginning of the newer version of the Bug. 1967 has the best of both versions. being that it has a 12 volt system, newer chrome molding(the thinner type).A padded dashboard. The headlights are the better type, It has a 1500cc motor. 66' had a 1300 cc motor. It maintains the smaller seats(a matter of taste). It has a ball joint front end as opposed to a link and king pin front end. 600 dollars seems like a good price. I've seen enthusiates pay alot more.

RE:
How much is a 1967 VW Beetle Worth?
I have the option to purchase one for $600. It is in fairly good shape (rusted floor boards of course) but the engine runs, tranny seems solid, needs brakes.....I would think this is a good buy???

Sparkey's right, the '67 is a one-off year. This can be a bit of a problem, because a lot of parts are unique to the '67. They're one of only few years a VW freak can ID at a glance. However, this also makes them one of the most sought-after years. $5K probably isn't bad, I live in upstate NY where nice '60's bugs bring a lot more than that in the rough. FYI, They went about $1800 new.

Hi:
It is a good deal if you are capable and equipped to do the repairs yourself. The purchase price is only the beginning of a money pit in many cases. 1967 is quite collectable. Good luck.

To me it would be. If you have the cash to fix it up go for it then turn around and make probably 3 time what you paid for it. Good luck in the restoration.

They are aging and most will need nearly frame-up restoration. If you need to drive it don't buy it. If you don't need to drive it will the restoration be comfortable to your pocketbook? It definitely deserves the work but don't put yourself in a pinch.

Ebay is your friend. Do an advanced search, selecting "Completed listings". This will tell you what this car has SOLD for in other auctions.
