This is a festival where there aer alot of activities for kids. I remember when i was younger there would always be a carnival at school. Their would be a number of events, random events, but with the channuka theme where there would be a menora involved etc etc. For instance squirting out the flames on the menorah. Then there is the latka making and dreidel playing.

There are many things you can do!!! For older kids, baking latkes is always a fun thing. For younger ones, you can play the traditional dreidel game with funky prizes. Do things like "hide the gelt". Depending on the age, you can give clues in codes or with secret messages. For younger ones, just hide them in places that will be easy to reach. One of my favorite Hanukkah crafts is making a dreidel that you can then fill with gelt or little treats to give the kids as the party is over. Making dreidels is very easy. Using a ruler, draw four squares in a row. Below them, draw four triangles. on top of the second square draw another square. Cut it out and glue the dreidel together. The children will love these little treat bags. Another theme for Hanukkah is the candles. With older kids, you can make candles following a simple "recipe" from any website. With younger ones, give pre-cut pieces of felt that they will glue together onto a larger piece. This project serves a few purposes since the felt will stick together, so the younger kids will be able to light their felt "menorah" every day. Make sure to give them plastic bags so they wont lose the pieces!!!

1. do a grab bag of little gifts, so everybody gets something
2. make menoras out of recyclable (but non-flammable!) materials
3. Make an act of kindness part of every holiday--decorate paper bags, and fill them with snacks or little toys and take it to a hospital for the children there.
4. Make sugar cookies and use cookie cutter in Chanuka shapes (we had menoras and dreidels)
5. Make a little dreidel...out of clay, of course!
6. If you can get a dreidel (known as sivivon in Hebrew) from Israel, show the kids the difference between and Israeli and American dreidel ("pay" for po, meaning "here" instead of "shin" for sham, which means there)
more kids chanukah sites listed below.
Happy holiday!

There's always the Scavenger Hunt. Hide channukah Guilt all over your house. Make some hiding places easier than others. Whoever finds it gets it. If There is a fight over guilt, the guilt is re-hiden.
Of coase, dreidel is allways fun. Use Channukah guilt as your "money" and play until one person has all the guilt. At the end, the guilt is evened up and shared.
You could also make latkes with your kids. Let them help out as much as you can. Eat with applesause, of coarse!
Thats all I got. Good luck!

Depending on the age, here are some ideas:
Make latkes (fried potato pancakes). Do a Chanuka craft. Make a Chanuka themed treasure hunt - kids love hunts usually. Get a CD of chanuka songs and do karaoke with it. Go to see a big public menora lighting. Watch Chanuka movies. (www.jemedia.com has a nice Chanuka DVD.)

When my daughter was learning about what the different religions celebrate and was doing activities with her class, I found a fun Hanukkah one.
EDIBLE DREIDLES
You take a large marshmallow, a Hershey's kiss, a small stick pretzel, a small amount of frosting, and a small tube of piping gel.
Stick the pretzel into the top of marshmallow, use frosting to "glue" the kiss to bottom of the marshmallow.
use the piping gel to write the symbols of the dreidles.
younger kids love this, as it is simple(except writing the symbols).
