It is only told in 4 places in the KJV. EX 6:3, Psalms 83:18, Isaiah 12:2, Isaiah 16:4
and in other places LORD with a footnote saying replaced JEHOVAH with LORD in large caps. Why did they replace it?

You got one Scripture wrong. That last place in the KJ Bible that has God's name is Isa. 26:4, not 16:4.

Some of the people who answered your question showed how ignorant they were. If you had just asked what God's name is, they would have quickly said, "Jesus, praise the Lord." But since you asked why God's name Jehovah has been left out of the KJ version so many times, when the name appears so often many reliable manuscripts, those same people hypocritically say, "Well, it doesn't matter what you call God", or they wil say that God has many names, although the Bible actually tells us his one PERSONAL name. Some people will say, "Why are you asking that question? Who are you, one of those Jehovah's Witnesses?" Those people make me feel so thankful that I have the truth because I am aware that my God--among other things--wants his name known instead of relegated to the generic title "God." Acts 15:4 said that Jehovah would take out of the nations "a people for his name."

The exclusion of his name predate KJV, which is a condensement of five other Bibles being used at the time in England. Actually, this version was the idea of Queen Elisabeth, but she died before it was complete. I wonder what she would have named it?

As some make note of above, it does fall on superstition. There was also a fear that should the scrolls be dropped, dirt would get on God's name, defiling it. The name was used frequently in many religions, up until the 20th century, though not in their Bibles. Prior to the 20th Century, Christians were mostly discouraged from reading the Bible, themselves, some times even owning one, as was common in England.

Actually, it is interesting that America adopted this version at all, since its origins came from England, with whom we fought a war.

Jer 23: 25 “I have heard what the prophets who are prophesying falsehood in my own name have said, saying, ‘I have had a dream! I have had a dream!’ 26 How long will it exist in the heart of the prophets who are prophesying the falsehood and who are prophets of the trickiness of their own heart? 27 They are thinking of making my people forget my name by means of their dreams that they keep relating each one to the other, just as their fathers forgot my name by means of Ba´al.

Shows that there are those who want God's name to be forgotten.

It is also interesting that, If you translate Baal into english you get "Lord"

So people today are forgetting God's name by means of Baal.

In comment about Jehovah protecting his word.

The orignial Greek and Hebrew have God's name.

He has made his name know through out the earth.

Jehovah Witnesses spend more that 1.35 billion hours a year telling people.

Superstition, and perhaps the influence of Satan.

Because when pagans became "christians" they wanted to keep the name of their chief diety in the text. The word comes from 3 pagan deities named Larth, Loride and Lordo.

LARTH: There was an Etruscan house deity whose name was Lar, which signified "Lord", also known as Larth.

LORIDE: Thor was the well-known Teutonic war-deity. He was also known as a Sun-diety. His surname was Hlorridhi, or Loride.

LORDO: Was another deity or daimon, the daimon of "lodosis", the curvature of the spine or body, which also had a sensual meaning.

Read the entire book and find at least 2 different bible studies a week. You'll be surprised what you learn, and how many times God is mentioned.

Everything is in the Bible exactly as God wants. It is His Word and He has the ability to make sure of that.

So, why do you doubt God's ability to watch over His Word?

Do you belong to the non-Christian JW cult?

If so, you are not a Christian, the JWs have distorted God's Word.

Did you know a true prophet of God would NEVER be wrong?

Then what happened to all those prophesies the JWs made about Jesus returning? Why were the JWs wrong so many times?

I'll tell you why...

They are a non-Christian cult.

It was believed at the time that either a) knowing a god's name let you control him or b) speaking the name of Yahweh/Jehovah would incur his wrath upon you.

Note: Jehovah doesn't mean 'LORD', Adonai means Lord.

lol, I got a thumbs down because I did my research? Onward Christian solider!

Jehovah means the same as Lord. But why they changed it I have no clue. But study that and show others what you found.
