The O is the hug because you make an O with your arms when you hug somebody the X is the kiss because thats to represent puckered lips like most kiss emoticons are like, :x

How about the letters H, U, G, and S to represent hugs. And the letters K, I, S, S, E, S to represent kisses. Seems pretty simple and avoids symbols that can confuse people who have no idea what the f*ck you're talking about.

x = hug because it has arms
o= kiss because it is like lips puckering up.
