Country Colours by Swartzcoff (not sure how its spelt) is good. Its semi-permanent and can be bought from Boots or Superdrug.

well another way is you can instead of putting it in the cap you can go ahead and put it in your hands and then distribute it into your hair.. but for this method I wouldn't leave it in as long as you would normally. check it out every 10 minutes to see what color of highlight or lowlight you want. Oh and no need for the clips on this one. the more it blends with the other hairs the more well the more softer it looks rather than having the whole stripe look or the chunky look. Just make sure you get the pieces that you want from the crown of your head (starting from the roots) and then down to the tips. Or if you want to just kick the hightlight idea go put in the base color.... yay! and then cover all your hairs with the highlight just like the color but leave it in only for a short amount of time or else you'll be well blond... or really bright....

I sure don't like the solution of one of your answers. Buy yourself one of the Japanese 10 minute dyes. I've been using them for years. If not sure, buy a lighter color. Started in USA and used liquid dyes which dribbled down my neck. The new Japanese dyes come in 2 tubes, with an application comb.,

Never use over the counter hair dyes.. they ruin your hair. Spend the extra money and go to the salon.
