"day after pills", or "morning after pills" are a prescriptive, and you need to get this via a Doctor...

Tell them you had unprotected sex, and that you are not wanting to fall pregnant...

ensure you don't go to a Dr that gives you the 3rd degree as you are wanting this pill, and not a baby!

The day after pills, also known as the morning after pill or emergency contreception pill, is a pill that the female takes after having unprotected sex or if the condom broke etc. She takes the pill and the pill has hormones like a normal birth control pill but it contains extra dosages of hormones that stops the sperm from being developed. (try to use it within 72 hours of intercourse) the sooner, the better the more chances you have into not being pregnant. You could get it at your local clinic or planned parenthood. I would suggest planned parenthood since it's free or you give how much money you can. Good luck!

Emergency contraception can be used within 72 hours of unprotected sex to help prevent a pregnancy from occuring. This medication works in two ways:

1) Stops ovulation if it has not already occured.
2) If ovulation has occured, changes the lining of the uterus to discourage implantation of a fertilized egg

You will soon be able to purchase emergency contraception over the counter. For right now, though, you will need to go to a doctor or clinic such as Planned Parenthood.

They change the uterine environment so that implantation of a fertilized egg becomes extremely difficult. Call your planned parenthood center for them.

These day after pills are an early abortion pill... you take them to make sure there is no chance of becoming pregnant or if you did it will make sure to killl the early fetus. I'm guessing you could get them anywhere you can get normal birth control... your dr. office, by prescription in your pharmacy. etc.
