Generally it is expected that you'd give a tip to a hairdresser.
I would not expect to tip a gent's barber who has just shaved someone's head in two minutes flat, but if a hairdresser has done a proper haircut then a tip should really be given. In some salons, you have one person who washes hair only and another who cuts it, and some people tip both, but it gets out of hand like that.
If say your haircut was £10 then I'd say a tip of £1 or if it's a particularly good job £2 may be sufficient.
10-15% for a general rule, 20% I'd say for a really top class job.

If you plan on going back to her for another haircut someday, I'd go back and give her a tip. Most people tip about 20% or $20 per hour of processing time if you're getting coloring or anything like that done, and you're also supposed to give the person who washes your hair a few dollars. The only time you don't really tip them is if the actual owner of the salon cuts your hair, although a lot of people still tip those guys, too.

If you think about it, you went in she gave you a nice hair do, and you paid that is what is meant to happen, most of the big places include the service charge in the price, I made my boss a nice cup of coffee should I get a pay rise or a tip dont think so, if she didn t look happy and you felt uncomfortable just dont go back you should not feel like you have to tip

everyone, even those with none type of education can get a job as a convenience save clerk, in spite of the indisputable fact that, a hair cloth cupboard is going to school - elegance college to be knowledgeable adequate to be able to substantiate you do not appear like the hot moron once you walk out of the hair position. Tipping your hairdresser is typical because you're tipping for a provider. you realize that it really is typical to tip your waiter or waitress, correct? it really is because they are appearing a provider for you. And if that provider is negative, you do not tip or provide an extremely small tip. same with a hair cloth cupboard, in case you walk out searching like the "what now to not do on your hair type of the year" - then you definitely do not tip or you tip them with the suggestion to visit college. (ok, possibly you do not provide them this kind of tip, yet i'd reassess a good tip besides.)

It is nice to get a tip.Sometimes we are broke and to be handed a couple of quid is nice. She prob did all that to your hair so that you might tip her.We have a rule, the nicer you are the better the tip.
It is not an obligation to tip but it shows you appreciate what we did for you.
So if you get a nice job again, just give her a small tip, they all add up!maybe €1 or £1 don't know where your from, so both currencies

Heh, it all depends on what country you're in. Don't forget there's other countries in the world besides USA. In USA I used to tip about 10% or a dollar. In Taiwan, one tips ONLY the hotel bellboy. not even the cab driver. In Philippines, where haircuts run from 50c to $2, I tip about 10% for haircut with a massage ($2 total).

I usually tip the girl who washes my hair rather than my hairdresser but I guess you could tip both (I don't tip the hairdresser as it's an old friend and I've been going to his salon for 15 years and he makes enough money out of me already! I do give him extra at Christmas but that's it).

Hey, that's to your discretion. I have tipped some hairdressers in the past, but not all of them. Also, some factors to consider are: did they do your hair exactly like you wanted, were they polite, were they customer-friendly, did they start on your hair on time. Those factors could weigh if they deserve a tip or not, but really it's up to how you feel about it.

1 Tip the barman(never get a flat pint again).
2 Tip the barber/hairdresser(will allways work miracles with your hair, keep you smart).
3 Tip the waiter/waitress(never get a cold meal again).
My 3 Golden rules.(Taxi drivers have no chance, the amount of times they cut me up on the road).
