Yes for tribal memebrs as errecting the fence violates still another treaty, ratified by congress and signed by the president, and tribal leaders. There has never been an illegal probem on the reservation, people go both ways for ceremonies, and tribal business, across private land, or land owned by tribal members.

Why do you related the fence to stop illegals coming into the USA and the North American Indian tribes, don't you think that they are two (2) different issues. North American Indians and Blacks are American citizens and their problems have nothing to do with the illegals coming from Mexico. You and no body else have the right to compare illegals to our Americans citizens. If a tribe of Indians live on the other side of the border they are called Mexican citizen and the land Mexico and if they live in this side of the border is the USA and they are called Americans. The problem is not the Indian tribes the problem is the invasion that are coming from the cities of Mexico and we have to stop it one way or the other. The Mexican government don't want to help and then we don't have no more option than to build the fence.

Currently, and in the past, they have allowed members from the tribes to go and visit family or go to ceremonies on the other side without going through border patrol (they just pass through gaps or doors in the border) or needing papers. This should definitely be kept the same. The U.S. should also make a strong attempt not to cut any of the reservations in half. They can build around if they have to. It is technically not U.S. land, so they should respect it and keep the peace. :)

There's no reason the indian tribes cannot manage their own portion of the border...but, I think they will have to be on their guard against those that would want to break US or Mexican immigration laws...it will be more difficult, but not impossible for them to manage...alternatively, they can request to have the fence circumnavigate their lands, and become either part of the United States or Mexico...that would probably require another land purchase or something like that...but either way you look at it, regardless of the obstacles, the border needs to be reestablished and maintained...hopefully, the indian tribes also recognize that need...

If there is a treaty in place between the US and the tribes, then the treaty should be honored --- to the letter. If that means free passage then a means for free passage should be made. If there is no treaty, then they are just regular Americans and the fence should be placed at the most effective location to promote security.

No. It would be RACISM to allow only people of a certain RACE to cross a border that is closed to all other races. Would you also like to only allow black people to sit in the black section at restaurants?? You cannot make a treaty that makes it OK to promote RACISM. It is also RACISM that if a white person agrees to pay the same fees and obtain the same licensing he cannot have a casino, but another person who pays the same fees can have a casino simply because they are native american. This is like saying a certain job is only allowed to certain races. Should we also only allow Irishmen to work on railroads and Chinese people to work only in laundries???

An exception should be made to anyone who wants to cross the border, legally or not.
