I have had my bikini line lasered (Laser hair removal) in the past and some of it (not all) has grown back. I can't afford Laser treatment at the moment as it's very expensive compared to Electrolosys.
Is it ok to switch to electrolysis treatment after having Laser treatment?
To me it seems like the same scientific thing going on in both methods??

I have tried electrolysis , it works good but it needs more time than laser to see the different, and it is kind of painful.

The laser removes the hair by introducing a pigment and/or using the hairs own pigment to vaporize it. The way it works is that the laser is tuned to destory only anything the color of the pigment so it doesn't do any damage to the skin (a specific wavelength of light is used that is absorbed by the pigment only). The problem is that the part of the root is too deep, doesn't have enough pigment, etc. such that not enough laser energy is absorbed to kill it.

Electrolysis on the other hand uses electricity to try and kill off the cells that cause the hair growth by putting a fine electrode actually into the hair follicle and zapping it. As with anything, if you turned the juice up on either enough to kill 100% of the hairs, it would also kill a good portion of the skin. So it is a compromise. Though laser should be more effective and less painful than electrolysis, each will typically take multiple treatments. For example, if the laser gets 80% each time then after 3 treatments there should be <1% remaining (20%^3 < 1%) and if electrolysis gets 60% then it will take 5 treatments to get less than <1% (40%^5 = 1%).
