If you look at the bible, it says all types of weird things. When something doesn't seem right, the Christians jump in and say it was a metaphor or that it meant some other thing within that religion, blah blah blah. If this is the case, why didn't god just make the bible clear enough with footnotes saying "In literal sense this means this" or "this is the definition of day that in comparison to human time." There really seems to be no point in making some book that is all confusing that ends up in splitting your church into hundreds of different denominations that interpret every single piece differently. So why didn't/doesn't god a) make the bible coherent or b) update the bible so we stop being confused about what he means. If lawyers can easily write technically, god should be able to do that and better right?

Good question and yes, God should (and DOES) do it the BEST of the BEST. It's called Progressive Revelation. He has been updating His Word ever since the beginning that has no beginning. If you look at the history of all the major religions in the world today (all of whom have their own revelation from God), you'll find that God has sent His Word in progression about every 500-1000 years. From time immemorial He has promised mankind never to leave them alone and He continues to fulfill His Promise. If you truly follow the Teachings of Christ and pray for guidance from God, you will no doubt be lead to the most recent Revelation which was sent down in 1844. It's a HUGE Revelation (over 100 volumes!). The next one will not come until 1,000 years have past. It is housed on Mt. Carmel in Haifa, Israel.

Happy hunting!

The Bible does not need updating because it is always in date. As far as the weird language- it was the language of the times and they did not think it was weird.
And there are metaphors in the Bible. It is up to us to ask for clarification from God.
If you have ever read the Bible sincerely, you would know things are revealed to the reader.

Even lawyers have judges to interpret what they write, correct? The bible is Truth. In 1Tim 3:15, we see that the Church is the pillar and foundation of Truth. There is only one Church that has been in existence from 33AD until now and has been given, through Peter and his successors, the authority to speak on Truth (which is why it is the same Church that Authoritatively decided which books would be included in the Bible!).

God Bless,

that would take all the fun out of it.

actually the thing is that when you learn to read it right... it might as well say this, because it becomes obvious to you how its meant, most of the time.

>>"If lawyers can easily write technically, god should be able to do that and better right? "<<

when you learn to read it properly, and see the real meaning behind the words on the paper,... it is.

imagine the depth and technicality to write a book that can provide things and knowlege and understanding that are absolutely timeless.

too many people force their own viewpoint on it, instead of reading what the text really means.

If you acually wanted to find out you would ask and receive. Explenations are everywhere, He is definitely not hiding the Message..If you are not interested you do not hear and see it, the ,main thing is look for Love and listen to your Heart//

try rocklyrics.(just call My name I'll be there in a hurry, we belong to the Light, Open your Heart, I'll make you love Me, and don't you know I would bring heaven on earth to be together forever with you, don't drem it's over when the world comes in to build a wall between us, looking for a heroe who bwlongs to the light, it's just an illusion.. etc//

Look to fairytales (maybe dwarfs, shortcoming, are easier than deadly sins_ ) to get the basics if you cannot see it, look to history, look to what happens around you.. If you really wanna find Him, He is everywhere// Use dreamsymbols//

It is hard to tell someone they are dreaming if they do not wanna hear it.. Even Christians do not see through the illusion of ego-mind/devil,, Married to the world and like He says in the songs, if He (ego-mind) makes you happy///How to find the lion that swallowed you whole...

Ego mind puts us in a mess and then turns around and blames God for it, chaining us in further.. Who is the fool really..

Evita (we are Eva) The truth is I never left you..(We left Him, or are in a dream of seperation, I made the u turn if you want you can do the same.. All you need is Love)

Love

The problem isn't God, but man. Our language changes. God never changes. If you look around, there are other Bible translations that are more modern that may help.
