The best indicator is to observe the actions. The words are easy. Are the actions done with love as the basis and are they consistent. Beyond this it will always be a dilema.

Only God loves unconditionally. A man or woman will always love you based on what you do for them, or the kind of person you are, or based on some other condition. Alot of times love is confused with infatuation, which could be dangerous to both parties.
Oh and parents usually love you unconditionally. But there are millions of exceptions to this rule for one, and second, it could be argued that your parents only love you under the condition of you being their child.
So in all reality, there is no such thing as unconditional love.

There is not any one sign or thing that happens. When it comes to love, you know it in the heart. That's really a tough one though. I don't think any of us know. We think we know. We want to know. But when referring to an others emotions, you really might never know. I think you will know if YOU love unconditionally, and will have a good idea if they feel the same. But things and people change. Money, added weight, children, job situations, any of these things could change and you don't know how another person will react. I know it sounds rotten, but if a person had a perfect body and looks, then that would never been an issue to look at. But if that person really changed and wasn't near as attractive as they were, it might really make a difference.

Nah, not even God is the only one who deserves the right to give out unconditional love. And there's no such prerequisites in order for anybody to love unconditionally.
A person loves you unconditionally if he just keeps on loving you, defends you against the world's worst, and cares for you without asking too much (or probably even nothing at all) in return.

three people are guaranteed to love you unconditionally... your dad, your mom and your kids! other than that, you gotta place a lot of trust and faith in the others... boyfriend, husband, friends, etc.

Only time will tell....
Because with time, all conditions will be brought up. And if you're still together through it all, its true, unconditional love.

when they marry you.
its a choice.
marriage is a promise to stick by you no matter what. unconditional love is exactly that. no "i will keep on living you IF"s.... no. it is. "I WILL keep on loving you." full stop.
the only one who can do this perfectly, is Jesus. He is awesome. but He helps us to do it to, if we want to enough.
