I heard on radio once a supermarket (I don't honestly remember which chain or what location) did that. It was I think sponsored by the radio station. I don't know how often supermarket would choose to do something like that. It was just for a couple of hours during lunch hour. My guess is there would be more women than men.

Yes - I went to a supermarket in the Czech Republic, and met 4 people from California.
Sure its possible. You see someone you like and help them select the best veggie, mellon or whatever.

It can happen. Everyone goes to the supermarket, and it's generally a casual atmosphere. People are psychologically in a browsing (shopping) mood. It happened to me once, while helping someone choose the best produce.
Of course, you need to be cautious, but people tend to keep themselves while shopping. A friendly 'hello' might go much further than in a bar or club.

Supermarkets are pretty good because you have some time to scope out the merchandise (no pun intended), but it also gives you a chance to see how that person lives (by what they eat). The laundr-o-mat is also a good place because it's quiet and you have a few hours to build up the nerve to approach that person.

It can happen, I suppose. If you see a man shopping in a supermarket on his own, chances are he's single!

I've worked in a grocery store for over 21 years and haven't found anyone yet! We used to have a singles night years ago though. Meanwhile, I've decided to go hang out at the local auto parts store. Good luck to you!

I find bus stops are the best places to chat up the opposite sex. Actually I think they are perfect places for it.
