They are far too willing to swallow the delusional bilge they were force-fed as a child to ever make the effort to form an original thought. Many religionists have never had a doubt about their silly institutionalized superstitions. If ignorance is bliss, Christians must be having never-ending explosive orgasms.

I think there are a lot of Christians who do ask questions, however blind faith is a very comforting feeling, not given up easily, I am not a Marxist, but he summed it up pretty well, in what has now become a cliche, that religion is the opium of the masses. Those with weaker faith do not want to risk it by considering awkward questions that might spoil the "buzz".
It can't be ignored that highly intelligent people are often Christians, and have thought long and hard about it.
It's not often quoted but Jesus has said that there was no need to take the bible pedantically literally- I can't remember the verse but it was about not working on the Sabbath.
I'm pretty certain Jesus would be appalled by some of the people who profess to be fundamentalist Christians- the sort that I think you are talking about.

If people actually took the time to put the contradictions into context (ancient society, language barriers, Hebrew word definitions) many of the so called "contradictions" work themselves out. That does take a willingness to learn and the ability to do so also.

With questions come knowledge and with knowledge comes responsability (correct!) B/C the more you know the more you will be judged for. Most christians are afraid of questions because they dont want to deal with the great responsablility- (But it sounds like you all forget that we are humans just like you.) Let people be! Thou should worry about your own beliefs. And if you must speak, speak with knowlege, so that you dont look like a fool.
Belzebub- - Asking questions IE. questioning is NOT forbidden in all Religions.

If people in general asked more questions they probably would realise that their beliefs contradict themselves a lot. But it's good to see someone being objective and not singling out one faith/religion.. lol. Seriously, that kinda bitterness will give you cancer or something... chill out.

Sadly, I dont think it would help the majority. I feel that that even when contradictions are blatant, there is always an invented reason for this, or the fact is simply denied. From the time that children are first taught religion, their valid questions are either discouraged or answered by non-sensical explanations. When there is simply no anser, "The Lord works in mysterious ways"

I asked a question that got thrown off Yahoo Answers, someone was surely afraid to let it remain, maybe because it would have made people realize what Christ really did for them. It scared the dark forces enough to possess someone to report it as a non question to have it removed.

I continually am asked questions and keep searching. When I find what appears to be a contradiction, I study it. I find it is how I had interpreted things, not the Bible that is in error.

The Bible does not contradict itself.
Beliefs, misinterpretations, and mistranslations contradict the Bible.

If you actually are believing in something then you won't ask any questions you would only have faith on it. Just because you are an aethist you wouldn't understand what faith exactly means
