Most religious prohibitions often have a very practical basic reason. In the case of the prohibiting on pork, this exact -- practical -- motivation why pork is considered unclean and therefore unlaw (haram) to eat is actually difficult to establish.

Some anthropologists have ventured as an explanation that, because pigs are forest animals, which need to live in shady environments. Both Judaism and Islam, religions prohibiting the eating of pork, emerged in arid desert areas, where it would be difficult to keep pigs. Therefore it is thought that discourage the nomadic Jewish and Arab tribes from keeping pigs there was a religious sanction put on the breeding of pigs and eating them

Two big reasons:

Pigs dont have necks.

In order for an animal to be edible in islam, all the blood in the body needs to be emptied healthily through the largest vein in the body that passed through the neck. All animals are slaughtered with a sharp knife and let to bleed till the blood leaves the body in Islam. Blood contains uric acid and is not healthy.

2. Pigs do not excrete most of their uric acid. About 98% of their uric acid stays in the body and thus they harbor parasites and other nasty stuff.

God knew about this when he sent the book and he informed us.

Infact, it is even said in the bible that believers should not eat swine.

Leviticus: 11:7. And the swine, which, though it divideth the hoof, cheweth not the cud.
Et sus qui *** ungulam dividat non ruminat

11:8. The flesh of these you shall not eat, nor shall you touch their carcasses, because they are unclean to you.

Scientifically Harmful to Human Body...

Pigs harbour a range of parasites and diseases that can be easily transmitted to man. These include trichinosis, cysticercosis, and brucellosis. They also very commonly have large concentrations of parasitic ascarid worms in their guts. The presence of these diseases and parasites is one of the main reasons why pork meat should always be well cooked or cured before eating. Pigs can also be aggressive and pig induced injuries are relatively common in areas where pigs are reared of where they form part of the wild or feral fauna.

"Haram", which means 'Unlawful' or 'Prohibited". The other words used for Haram is 'Unacceptable' or 'Forbidden'. Haram foods and drinks are absolutely prohibited for consumption by Allah. Eating Haram is forbidden for every Muslim. If a Muslim consumes Haraam foods, he would be sinful.Pig haram because he have a bacteria inside the body. Later you can get sick.

Pork is haraam and it is not permissible to eat it, whether it is the meat, fat or any other part, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maitah (the dead animals — cattle — beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine[al-Maa’idah 5:3]

The Muslims are agreed that all parts of the pig are haraam. Allaah has forbidden it because of the harmful things it contains and because it is impure, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say (O Muhammad): ‘I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maitah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork); for that surely, is impure…”[al-An’aam 6:145]

Its meat is a disease, and the more people advance in knowledge, the more new diseases they discover, because of pork consumption.

Thank you for this question.

In the Quran it states that all good things that Allah (swt) put on this earth as plants and animals are allowed for us to eat EXCEPT a certain list. In this list are swine (pigs) which are considered an abomination for consumption by people.

That is the only reason. As believers and as servants of God we seek to please and obey him through following the do's and dont's that He set up for us in the Quran and as illustrated by Muhammad (saw) who is the best example of that.

Peace and Blessings,

Salim

In ancient times, and in the A.D., pigs were considered unclean animals. They tended to live in garbage heaps at the edge of towns and rolled in their own manure and mud. Unlike other domesticated animals, there was really very little difference between wild pigs and domestic pigs, at that time.

For the health reasons. Modern science has proven the meat of pigs to have negative impact on health; what do we expect from an animal that feeds on litter, trash and dirt?

The pig is an animal that naturally carries parasites within its flesh. It does not sweat and therefore does not remove these parasites. So, when you eat pork you are actaully consuming the parasites with the meat. Even tho they may be cooked, you are still consuming them.

It is unhealthy scientificly too.
Pig meat holds lots of worms and stuff like
that that no matter how much you clean it, worms
and other viruses would still be there.
Islam allows stuff that is good for us and prohibits bad stuff.
Also all religions prohibit pork.
Jews don't eat it.
i think the Bible doesn't say anything good about pork
