There are three great answers up there!

1) Don't ask us how we do what we do if you aren't one of us! Join us and do what we do - then we'll show you. Army Strong!

2) If you must play with knives like you are probably already doing find a good martial arts school where you can learn the discipline and responsibility that goes along with such knowledge and experience.

3) We're a gun culture - go to england where your 70% more likely to be stabbed then shot.

4) There is no such thing as a knife fight. There is one of the following:

- One person attacks another with the unfair advantage of a knife.

- Two really stupid people decide that slashing each other makes more sense then swapping punches.

- One person decides another is going to kill them if they don't take extreme measures and uses a knife in self defense.

No matter what your reason - if you use a knife on another person you'll have a long legal battle ahead of you.

The little I know is this:

In the US, we do not "knife fight". This is a gun culture, not a knife culture. Now, there are lots of thugs that assault their victims with a knife, but that's a different thing. If anyone wants to teach you: "You get your knife out, and I'll get mine out, and we'll go at it. ready? Go!", then you rae not training for what happens in real life. You should train with the defender unarmed (or at least, their weapon sheathed and concealed), and the attacker is off to one side, and the attacker must attack before you can react. THAT is a knife assault, and that's what happens in the US.

The second thing I know about knife fighting is simply this: The more I study and train against a knife, the more I realize I NEVER want to do it for real.........
