what are the signs of of the Time Immediately before Moshiach? I read an excellent article by Rabbi Jacob Immanuel Schochet on this subject.
He points out many recognisable signs such as the young will insult the old; family-breakup with mutual recriminations.
It seems that children will become disbediant to parents and disrespect the elderly people.
Can anyone shed more light on this?

Judaism doesn't have any dogmatic beliefs on the subject.
some Jewish people believe that the christian end-times prophecys have some value, but with alot of misunderstanding, warping and misinteperetation.
but basically theres very very very little "standard" belief in such a way, if any.
really I think most Jews see the first decisive "sign" to be simply the Messiah's coming.
but of course, most jews also believe that theres a "potential" messiah born with each generation, that if its the time, they will blossom into being the one.
that most of the "events" occur following the coming of the messiah.
which, btw... the jewish messiah is *NOT* meant to be a sacrifice, God incarnate, or any more divine than you or I.

there are no such generally agreed upon prophecys related to the end times.
I mean really all those specific things you mentioned have happened throughout history, and people have been claiming the end of the world and/or decay of civilization on those standards, since forever.

Not surprisingly, these signs are similar to the Signs in Muslim Texts. Probably. it may be a reason that in the fundamentals of Muslim Faith, held jointly by Shia and Sunni, Belief in all the Holy Prophets and a Belief in all the Holy Books is there soon after the Belief In Allah and in (all) the Angels. May I request people of all Faiths in our Forum, including Hindu and Buddhist to kindly response to this good question and pool the knowledge! The breakup of families be a common concern to all the Humankind with positive suggestions to rebuild families' structure. And a family be defined as inclusive of nephews, neices, Uncles and Cousins on both maternal and parental lineage.

There is only one sign of the End Times. A man named George W. Bush in the White House. Not even a fiery plague from the sky could be more of a signal than Bush.

They are still awaiting the Messiah's first appearance.
They rejected that Jesus fullfilled all the prophecies in their scrolls and manuscripts.
Also, since the Romans destroyed all genealogical records in 70ad, they can not show that whoever appears to them claiming to be the Messiah, is in the line of King David.
They are indeed involved in a lost religion, so how could they truly have an idea when the end of the wicked world will come?
