Peter Tatchell claims there is a whiff of hypocrisy among some Muslims who, in the name of being spared offence, want to censor other people's opinions.
Monday night’s Channel Four studio debate, Muslims and Free Speech, exemplified the double-standards of some Muslim leaders. They object to people offending their religious sensibilities, but happily cause offence to others whenever it suits them.

They want to censror opionions cuz dey know it will start more hatred and give more of a bad name to muslims and muslims dnt want that, i mean how many times really u seen muslims mak remakrks of oda faiths as in freedom of speech, u dnt really, it works both ways , people can say whatever they want, fair enough, but when u know it wil incite hatred den isnt it worth censoring them and living in peace, ppl just wanna be left alone wiht der lives, if u dnt liek sumfin dne keep it to urself, dnt attack ppl who aint attacking u, if opposite den deal with da individual, not people and religion as a whole,

Muslims are living the middle ages of Christianity. The population in most Muslim countries are not well educated. That is why they are trying to find all the answers in religion. And since they are not good educated, they can't think reasonably as well and they believe in whatever they are told by those who use religion as a tool to reach their own aims. They think they are good Muslims but actually they are turned into puppets who obey anything without reasonal thinking.
People were condemned to heresy in middle ages and they were burnt alive. Priests were selling keys to peasants so they can enter heaven... The same thing happened before until Christians start printing Bible, learn what is actually written in it and try to reasonably understand their religion. Discovery of a new continent which brought wealth, slavery and other improvements in technology improved their wealth even further and they turned their head even more to science and "freedom of speech". Since science do not always overlap with the teachings of religion. Galilei was threathened to be condemned to death if he does not repent saying that the world is round and turning around the sun.
Most terrorists and other people who are mislead in their believes learn religion from other people who want to use them as puppets. They can't read what is written in Quran. They can't discuss the idea in it. Therefore they don't know what their religion says to them. They only know what they are told. And these people who use them as a tool are of course against freedom of speech. Because in order to be free in what you say, you must think what to say. When you think what to say, you discuss different opinions in your head. In order to know different opinions you must read and understand what Quaran is talking about. And this is what they just don't want.

Yes but surely by now , avid TV watcher that you are, you have figured out that people who are up for presenting their faces on the idiot box are not representative of those they claim to represent.
Most thinking individuals dive for cover when accosted by the press or the media.
Debates like that are populated by people who are happy if given a mirror for their birthday...every year!
