Remote Desktop is an awsome application! If you are using Windows XP Professional you can connect to your computer remotely from another computer anywhere. It is convienient if you are at a freinds house and you want to transfer a file or show him/her what your computer looks like.
You must make sure that you have an account name and password set up on your PC and know the IP address. If you don't you won't be able to do it. You also have to make sure your computer will allow your PC to be remotely controlled, (the setting is in the network settings). Insure your firewall has port 6699 open for incomming connections. I've had alot of fun with this and have fixed many computer systems this way.
Remote assistance isn't as fun because when you send out the request for remote assistance, someone has to accept the invitation.
