He IS the most important thing in our lives, just as He should be. I try to solve my own problems, but I'm just not that bright and need the help lol.
And I've found that 100% of the time, if I rely on His word rather than my own judgment, I come out ahead.

From my own personal dealings with the faithful, this is what I've encountered the most:
The hardest thing for many people is to take responsibility for their own successes and failures.
The work involved in being a logical human isn't worth the effort. Instead of finding an answer, its easier to say "it's god's will"
Superstition plays a huge role in the lives of many.

what other reason is there to where a dynamite dinner jacket and run up some back water high street full of innocent tourists?I think religion retards ideals and cultural growth so much that it sets its own people back a thousand years when applied.I know that it was Catholicism that crusaded to the holy land a millenia ago and commited such gratuitous crimes in the name of god but it has now turn full circle and is coming back west but a thousand years ago we didn't know what we do now and couldn't explain what we now take for granted daily.Religion breeds ignorance and narrow minded persecution and with religion around it will stay that way.The oldest religions we have will not assimilate each other at risk of losing their own identity, they will war and fight.Ignorance is certainly not bliss...

I have a faith in Jesus because I met him. I wasn't a christian then 2 hours later I had my eyes opened by the Holy Spirit and realised the christians were telling the truth. It's not the sort of faith you get blindly, it has to be a calling from God, but if you look for him he promises he will be found.

Try to solve things with your own forces...sometimes you just can't do it!
Anyway...yeah, many people believe in God because they want Him to solve their problems. But this is wrong...You have to believe in God just because He exists, He does not have to solve your problems to put your trust in Him.

Because God freed me from my past, gave me a new life, guides me, protects me, gives me all I need, empowers me, strengthens me. Most of all, God chose me to have Eternal Life through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the power of The Holy Spirit. As long as I am loyal to Him.

It's not a necessity....
Just as it is not necessary to find a mate and marry.
Either way, to believe in something other than oneself is like unto a relationship.....
But, neither is necessary......
It just requires a great deal of faith in something that other than one's self......
((Pssst! I am not the religious type either....))

I believe in my self, but I choose to do nothing without the guidance of God. That doesnt make me weak to live my life for Him. God wants us to come to Him when we have problems and to come to Him just because He wants to love us. With God on your side, who can be against you

I actually agree with this. Some people just pray & pray but dont realize that you still have to work with your prayers. I believe in God but i also believe that i can do anything if i work to acheive it. His spirit will guide me in the right direction, but i still have to work for what i am praying for.

2 reasons, all of the major religions of the world provide a moral code and people need this, also believing in a religion gives a person hope, and hope is very important.
