A Muslim cleric's claim that women who do not wear the veil are like 'uncovered meat' who attract sexual predators sparked outrage around Australia yesterday.
Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali, the nation's most senior Muslim cleric, compared immodestly-dressed women who do not wear the Islamic headdress with meat that is left uncovered in the street and is then eaten by cats.

Man, some Islamic countries circumcise their women, do you know how painful this is for women, man that's crazy, and do you know why? so women feel no pleasure, but men are allowed, that is wrong.

Man, you all must be really tired because no one really made a whole lot of sense. Most of you just sorta rambled for a while. The point is that those who said no, muslims are not sick, just that sick puppy of a Cleric were right. Not all muslims believe he knows what the hell he's talking about. Apparantly there are even some of you that do agree with him. As far as freedom of speech... telling women that are raped that they deserved it and that women that are not in traditional muslim head dress are like pieces of meat and will attract the animals and that we should all stay home in the head dress in the kitchen is not acceptable - you know you'd get your back up if someone said something that offensive in your presence! Anyway, it was angrily rejected by Muslim women as well. Lets be objective hey. P.S. I'm Christian.

Not Really, Just like Anyone Else, they have the GOD Given Right to Believe what they Want to Believe.
It is the Ones who become Terrorist and Kill, Kill, Kill that I think are Sick.
The ones who go Extreme in their Beliefs.
The Few who make it Bad for the Many.
Anybody in any Organization or Religion has the Right to Believe what they want to, unless those Beliefs GO Against What GOD Said, and they start Acting them Out in the Physical REALM.
Thats Why we have Policemen, Jails, LAWS, Court Systems, and this Big Ole Thing called the Military (and they got some Good Stuff too).
If ALL of that FAILS to Subdue the Enemy----then GOD will Subdue the Enemy HIMSELF.
Roger That.
Over and Out.

They're not really sick. That's just what they believe. Maybe they have to change a bit somehow. Like this praying five times during work, i think that should be avoided because their employers pay them to work and not to stop work for the reason that they are praying. They also wash their feet and without any towel to wipe them dry, they put on the working socks again. When they remove the socks to pray again, you could already smell different. When they want to pray in the morning while everyone is asleep, you could hear the shouting asking the others probably to pray also. But as i said, that's just the way they are so I thing they are not sick.

And the modern world with its infallable taste in portraying naked skinny female flesh all over the media has contributed a LOT to the way our children see women??
Unless otherwise stated, its common belief that a womans body was made solely to pleasure and showing it off like meat on a rack was a good thing for the future of your daughters.
How sick is that?

Saying all muslims are sick because of what this man said is like believing all christians are sick because a few believe in murdering their enemies. We can,t brand all muslims with the one stick any more than we can brand all christians or jews with one stick. There are moderate and extreme views in all religions.
Having said that, when living in a democracy we can all say what we like, believe what we like, as long as we are not promoting violence or hatred, personally I don't understand why anyone lives in a country where they can't accept the culture of the country they're living in, visit surely, but not llive in.

yes its sick but the veal is not a requirement of the Faith but if we went to India , e.c.t. we need to abide by there rules so why don't we have rules in this country and sort the bloody lot out , as the thing gets worse the government needs to take a stand for the majority of folk in Britain not the minority

Not all Muslims are sick,in fact most of them are decent people. But to everyone who is saying that it is bad to dress immodestly, the sheik's definition of immodest was not wearing the hijab or wearing makeup. So,are we to assume that if a woman is not wearing a headscarf she is to blame for being raped? What if you wear a long-ish skirt and a normal t-shirt.Is that immodest?I don't think so.I'm apologise if I sound very defensive,it's just something I feel very strongly about.

I am in Australia and i can say i respect all people who practice a religion or not as that is their choice. What was the Shieks goal making that comment public? To cause more division and anger?
There is a hidden agenda to it.

In Saudi Aabia I have seen western women beaten for accidentaly exposing a lower leg when getting out of a car. I reject violence but veiled ladies should be instantly deported if they refuse to folllow our rules.

Hang on a minute, that cleric spoke for himself, not on behalf of the millions of Muslims around the world, so you cant generalise like that. Women who chose to wear the hijab often do it for themselves, not so that they are not seen as 'uncovered meat'. Also, alot of the muslim spokespeople for Oz spoke out against what the cleric said, and obviously do not support what he thinks. I suggest you research your viewpoint throughly before putting it out there, and dont generalise until you know the truth. By the way, I am not a Muslim, nor do I belong to any religion, so I am not getting on my soapbox, I just feel that you should not judge a community of people judged by what one of them says.
