Well, they first invented a pen that didn't actually write. For centuries people would just scribble on paper for the exercise. They didn't get the inventors name because no one could write it down.

Then they invited, as you say the "writing" ink pen, and people were like whoa! Not just an ink pen, but a writing ink pen. This changed things.

If you think these are wonderful, I wonder how you react to newer inventions like the steam engine, the printing press, the wheel, and fire.

Lewis E. Waterman an American invented Fountain Pen in the year 1884.

Ball Point Pen:
László Bíró an Hungarian invented the Ball point Pen in the year 1943.
