Ok well i posted last night but I didn't get many clear answers.
I got my 5 1/5 week old Maltese puppy from a reputable breeder in Australia. I do not know much about the breed other than it has long haor when it grows up. I am a single 20 y/o living alone.
I need to know how much to feed her, how long I need to walk her, groom her, etc. I do not have a lot of time to do stuff because i am very sociable and hang with my friends A LOT!!! I have a crate, food, collar and leash for her. I keep her in my aprtment at day and leave her in the crate at night. i feed her 2 small meals a day (only had her 3 days) . Is this enough food? I cant groom her for long, because i have not got a lot of time, like i said, i hang with my friends a lot and love to PART-AY!
I need to know what is the easiest and best way 2 potty train her because i will absolutley REFUSE to clean her poo and wee becayse she cant be BOTHERED to hold it in.
How much do i need to walk her? Can I just do (CONTINUES)

(CONT.) a 20 min walk every 2-3 days? My friends dont think its cool to walk dogs for long lol, i guess its not.
I was also considering BREEDING her with a male puppy. I am buying a male Maltese at age 6 weeks from a reputable breeder in S.A (she is getting shipped to vic for me). I have put a $300 deposit on him already - i cant wait. I am thinking of the names Dylan-Nicholas, Leo-Napolian or Maximus-Harry-Moe.
I need some professional breeders to help me with breeding (JUST NEED A LOT OF ADVICE).
Oh, I am going out for 2 days (not coming home for 2 WHOLE days) because my friends dad died and I need to be with her during this time in her life. Can i leave the puppy in my apartment (not in crate) with a lot of food (3 open cans) and a whole dish of water? Will that be ok?

>>>i posted last night but I didn't get many clear answers<<<
I saw your previous post, you got plenty of good answers, you just didn't like them.
>>>I got my 5 1/5 week old Maltese puppy from a reputable breeder<<<
NO "reputable" breeder will sell a puppy at this age, it is much too young to leave it's family. Good breeders keep their puppies for at least 8 weeks, many toy dog breeders keep them until they are 12 weeks old.
>>>I do not have a lot of time to do stuff because i am very sociable and hang with my friends A LOT!!!<<<
Dog are also very sociable and require a great deal of time and attention. If you do not have the time, you should not have a dog. It is a living, feeling creature, not a toy to be put on the shelf when you are not playing with it.
>>>i feed her 2 small meals a day<<<
At her age she should be eating 4 meals a day. Her stomach is very small and cannot hold much at once.
>>>I cant groom her for long, because i have not got a lot of time, like i said, i hang with my friends a lot and love to PART-AY!<<<
See above on the time require to properly care for a dog. If you don't have the time, don't have a dog.
>>I need to know what is the easiest and best way 2 potty train her because i will absolutley REFUSE to clean her poo and wee becayse she cant be BOTHERED to hold it in. <<<
Would you also refuse to clean an infant because it can't be "bothered" to hold it? That is ridiculous, the puppy is a baby and does not have good control at this age.
>>>My friends dont think its cool to walk dogs for long lol, i guess its not. <<<
Who cares whether it's "cool" or not? It needs to be done. It's part of owning a dog.
>>>I was also considering BREEDING her with a male puppy.<<<
Speaking as a breeder, there is a LOT more involved in breeding than simply having a male and female and putting them together. And if you hate cleaning pee and poo, you really won't like dealing with the blood, afterbirth and discharge that occur with birth and for some weeks afterwards. Puppies are VERY messy.
>>> I am buying a male Maltese at age 6 weeks from a reputable breeder<<<
Again, NO REPUTABLE BREEDER WILL SELL A PUPPY AT THIS AGE.
>>>Oh, I am going out for 2 days (not coming home for 2 WHOLE days) because my friends dad died and I need to be with her during this time in her life. Can i leave the puppy in my apartment (not in crate) with a lot of food (3 open cans) and a whole dish of water? Will that be ok?<<<
NO.

I've raised a lot of puppies and I think birth order is important. The firstborn and second born are often the biggest, most bold pups in the litter. What you don't want is the runt (often the last born) because they really never have the great personality that the others will. I'd pick the biggest pup in the litter, or at least the friendly one who comes up for love. This shows you that your pup pays attention to humans and if he's the biggest one, that he had the gumption to get food for himself and not allow other dogs to beat him out. Right now I have a part Dalmation that was the firstborn and the biggest pup and he's friendly, obedient, cheerful, easy to introduce to new people, and a great watchdog. I also have a last-born runt Border Collie who, although beautiful, was never much of a sheepherder, and he's fearful with strangers, snappy with the livestock, and a little dangerous as a watchdog. If your pup has no interest in humans, it is not a very good sign. Sit down on the ground and see if all the pups come over for love, even temporarily. If they all do, then I wouldn't worry.

Hate to say it, but you don't need a puppy. She's only 5 1/2 weeks old! She shouldn't have been sold to you until she was at least eight or nine! You got a dog now, honey, and they're just like children. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!! MAKE THE TIME!! If you want to hang out with your friends and party, give the dog away to someone who has the time for her.
What kind of idiot are you? You bought a dog, have no idea how to take care of her, and no incentive to take the time at all.
Answers like mine, and the ones above, are probably the only ones you're going to get. DEAL!!
I'm 23, have six cats, one 17 year old dog, and a two year old niece. I like hanging with my friends, too, but I know that FAMILY is more important. Your new puppy IS YOUR FAMILY!! GET USED TO IT!!
Grow up and find someone else to take care of your puppy, or let me know where you live and I'll come get her. She needs a better home than the one YOU'RE giving her.

Sorry. You did NOT buy your puppy from a reputable breeder. Firstly, 5 1/2 weeks old? that is too young. Second, it is the breeder's job to give you all the info on how to take care of and train your puppy.
Next. If you do not have a lot of time and prefer to hang out with your friends, why do you want a dog? A dog is a companion. It is a living, breathing creature that has been domesticated to live with people as part of a family.
A dog must eat and drink to survive. As a result of this, it also must pee and poop. duh. It is your responsibility to take care of the puppy. A puppy is as a baby. It must eat often, hence defecate often. A puppy can not "hold it" according to your schedule.
A dog must walk, run play. Contrary to your "friends", it is way cool to take dogs for long walks, to play fetch.
You are complaining about your one pup. You sound as if YOU can't be BOTHERED to take care of it. And you want another? And you want to have a litter?
Find a home for the puppy you have. Someone who actually WANTS a companion to share their life with. Both of you will be better off.
Then go out and party.....

It seems to me you should have read up on the breed before you bought a dog, especially a maltese. The internet has nice information, and until you have expieriance with the breed I wouldnt suggest breeding them. Just think, a bunch of puppies of a type of dog you dont know anything about. Keep it in consideration before you breed. Good luck training her though! 5 1/2 weeks is really early to be away from Mom though. She needs especial care at this time.

Well if you refuse to clean wee and poo up you are going to be living with it for some time as it takes weeks to train the puppy but what anoys me is your attitude why on earth did you get this puppy if you dont know nothing about it and not prepared to put the time and effort into training it properly it doesnt happen over night and if you are a sociable person its not fair to leave this puppy alone all the time Also what concerns me is the age of this puppy it to young to have left its mum yet the correct age should be over 7 weeks to 12 weeks so the reptuable breeder is not very good!!!! as for the meals she should be having 4 small meals, then increase the amount of food to twice a day of big meals make sure there is always a supply of water for her to drink and buy her some toys to chew as she will chew things as she will be teething as for walks she cant go out yet untill she as had her injections at 12 and 14 weeks old then she can go for walks twice a day for 20 mins to 30 mins each untill she is older to have longer walks. Get a good book on this breed and swot up or better still take her back untill you are mature enuf to look after her properly and as for buying a male dog to breed this is ridiculuse you cant look after this 1 never mind another get your deposit back and spend it on your friends because they are clearly more important to you. AND YOU CAN NOT LEAVE A PUPPY ALONE FOR 1 DAY NEVER MIND 2 DAYS GROW UP LITTLE GIRL!!!!! THIS PUPPY IS LIKE A NEWBORN BABY SO HELPLESS AND NEEDS YOU TO LOOK AFTER HER GOD HELP HER IF YOU HAVE TO GO TAKE THE PUPPY WITH YOU

You can find someone to puppysit while you travel and even go to work. But it sounds to me that you are not responsible enough to even have a dog. More importantly you sound really selfish saying that you can't care for an animal that you decided to get because you would rather party and hang out with your friends. I hope someone will take the puppy for you and give it a better life than you are prepared to give it. Either that or I hope that animal control will take her from you. Why did you even bother getting a dog if you are not prepared to care for it. ITS A LIVING THING JUST LIKE U. and if you REFUSE to clean up after her then that alone is just nasty that you would accept that.

Everyone has said what I have been thinking. I only wish that if I clicked on the Report Abuse button it would report you to the proper authorities that handle animal abuse cases in your section of Mars. You are starving the poor animal, and locking a puppy that young (which was not obtained from a reputable breeder at that age) for 2 days in a crate (or any animal) should have you locked up for 6 months to a year and fined at least $5,000.00. Then your "cool" friends could visit you there.

Most dog owners want their dogs to be trained; In fact, many dog lovers, including Gary Shmerling, see to it that their pets undergo a series of effective dog training. Although they are inherently smart, not all dog breeds can be easily trained. Many owners are having a hard time training their pets with even the simplest of commands. While some dogs are fond of the training process, and the treats given, most breeds need proper guidance and consistent dog training.
Dog training can take so much of your time and effort as well as money, and of course - patience or understanding. However, your efforts will become fruitful if done the right and fun way. Training your dog need not be harsh; you can't even expect to see immediate results. But the best thing is, there are so many ways on how you can effectively and easily train your dog.
1. Information is always the key.
Be aware of the characteristics of your dog breed as such information can help you determine the kind and level of training needed. You must be knowledgeable with the basics if you want to successfully train your dog, especially if you chose to do the training all by yourself. Of course, research is your only tool in terms of gathering the right and sufficient dog training information.
2. Lengthen your patience. Give sufficient time and effort.
If you're moody and impatient, then it's best to have somebody else train your dog. Your patience and your effort are what your pet badly need. Without those two, you can't be consistent; and that's also essential for an effective dog training. You must first evaluate yourself whether you are qualified to train a dog or not so that unfavorable results can be avoided.
It is a must that you start training your dog while he or she is still young, particularly when it comes to obedience training. By doing so, you can have your dog avoid unpleasant and aggressive behaviors. Moreover, don't let your emotions spoil the process.
3. Discipline well. Be reasonable.
Learn when to reward and when to reprimand your dog's behavior, not just during the training but also when interacting with your family. Discipline the right way and do not spoil or punish your dog excessively. You can ignore or deprive your dog with some treats but should not, as much as possible, hit him/her with a stick or even a rolled magazine. Physical punishment would only result to disobedience and aggression. Efficacy can be achieved if dog training is done in a consistent manner, with care and reason.
4. Use the right resources.
Find out which dog training tools are suitable for your dog breed. Make sure you have a dog leash and collar as well as muzzles, crates and clickers. Know where and how to start with such tools.
Train on the best places. Look for a particular location wherein your dog can focus with the training; avoid distracting places like a crowded park. For starters, it is wise to do the training on your backyard; however, the location may still depend on the kind of training you want your dog to accomplish.
5. When all else fails or if you really don't have the time to successfully finish the kind of training you intend for your beloved dog, then go for the aid of a professional dog trainer. If you want the best dog training, then be prepared to make the investment.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tinyurl.im/Gcp3Z
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

Please find a reputable kennel to put her in for shelter. No way can u leave any dog/maltese alone for two days. You should have found out how to care for it PRIOR to buying it and it sounds like you do not need to think of buying another or breeding. You need to make the full-time committment to caring for the pet or give it to someone else who can. Please do not leave the puppy alone for more than just a few hours!
