my hard disk has 2 partitions...can i reformat one of it while the other stays the same..

yes u can. eg. if u have 2 partition c and d. u just boot from a clean floppy/cd. then give the following command.

format c:/u

i.e. all

There is no such restriction. U can format both partitions. U can also delete the partition and format the hd as one partition only.

U can certainly reformat only one of the partitions if u so like.

yes why not but not the master partition or the partition on which the os was installed typically C:\

Yes you can and the other one won't be affected
you can use paragon partition magic to do it but remember to first backup your needed data

Yes you just to format d:\ or whatever - it will only format the drive you specify
