We've allowed the politically correct to tell the majority what to do for years. Now a town in Wisconsin has voted to change their towns tree
back to tradition of calling it a "Christmas" tree.

It does seem we as a people are sick of the politically correct BS.

your thoughts?

Yes, "PC" when referencing Christmas is on the way out thank goodness. I am of the opinion that it was a mistake to try and use terms like Festive or Holiday Season. You don't go to a Muslim who is observing Ramadan and say "happy festive or holy season". People around the world observe and celebrate Christmas. So let me be the first to say it: "Merry Christmas" everyone!

You all think this is something new - when I was a kid in the fifties people were all ticked off that stores and tree lots talked about "Xmas trees" and "Xmas bargains" instead of saying Christmas. Difference is, it was not picked up by all the desperate politicians and television news was actually news not mudslinging and celebrity sightings.

I am sick of everybody thinking this stuff is all new and that it is all that earthshaking. If your are confident in your Christianity, who cares what your town does? Gimme a break, do you need validation from he whole world in order to feel comfortable in your belief system?

Most of things, such as political correctness, go in cycles and eventually those without merit disappear. Is this one of them? Speaking as an Atheist, I hope so. Cultural traditions such as Christmas activities require no cleansing by those pushing for political correctness. I suspect that we have not seen the last of such people, like cockroaches they are difficult to eliminate.

The war on Christmas is mainly fabricated. I challenge you to consider these facts, and see if you still believe there is an assault on Christmas.

The expression "happy holidays" has been found on greeting cards and wrapping paper for over 50 years.

Bill O'Reilly's website sold "HOLIDAY" ornaments for "HOLIDAY TREES" last year. All while he was promoting the notion that there was a "war on Christmas" and Gibson's book which originated the idea.

President Bush sent out HOLIDAY CARDS last Christmas with no mention of Christmas at all. The inscription read: "best wishes for a holiday season of hope and happiness"

I think that the pendulum is certainly swinging back to the middle after all of these "PC" years. I think that "Halloween" is still mired under all of the PC nonsense however... because some people think that holiday is associated with the devil, etc. Sometimes I am amazed at how stupid my fellow Americans can be...

filida is the only one who bothered to research if the statement was true or not. it isn't. now you see what is REALLY wrong with america. there are way too many gullible or lazy people who don't bother to find out if something is true or not before shooting their mouths off about it. maybe if more americans used the computers at your fingertips to discover truth rather than simply rant about what you THINK is true, or simply finding something to agree with what you think is true, more progress would be made toward cleaning up the mess this world is in.

There's finally a light at the end of this long, dark tunnel. Now lets deport every member of the ACLU and get back to our lives.
