i want to burn it to dvd i put the disk in DVD+RW i press burn and it just keeps telling me to put a disk in whats going on?ive just gone into my computer and under devices and removable storage it says (DVD/CD-RW Drive (D:) i click on it and the folder or whatever this is comes up blank does this mean i dont have a DVD RW drive ?

It could be that you just have a DVD reader, not writer. Right click on the drive, go properties, then Hardware, it should tell you there whether it's a ROM, RAM, or RW. RAM or RW are burners, ROM is just the reader.

You may well find that what you have is a combo drive, which consists of a DVD-ROM (player) and CD-RW (writer).

If that's the case, I'm afraid the only thing you can do is purchase a DVD-R/DVD-RW (this seems to be more popular than DVD+R/DVD+RW, and you may well find that your home DVD player doesn't play the +R format. Having said that, most, if not all of recent DVD writers are multi-format, will write to both +R and -R format disks.)

Alternatively, if you use a program such as DVDShrink, you'll be able to write VCD or SVCD disks using the writer that you currently have.
