Heroic Warriors

1981-1982

* He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, aka Prince Adam.
* Duncan, known simply by his title Man-At-Arms is Teela's foster father. He designs and builds weapons and other technology for the King. Duncan knows Adam/He-Man's secret identity, and acts as mentor and teacher to the young prince.
* Teela is Captain of the Royal Guard and often assists He-Man in his battles. She is the daughter of the Sorceress, though she does not know this; Man-At-Arms has raised her from infancy at her behest. She is characterized by a strong personality and long red hair as fiery as her temper. One of her duties is to teach combat skills to Prince Adam. She frequently berates him for his careless and worry-free attitude, but is fond of him nonetheless. In the modern incarnation she is a teenager.
* Stratos is a humanoid with the power of flight and energy projection. He lives in the kingdom of Avion, where he is the leader of a race of Bird People.
* Zodak is the Cosmic Enforcer who is generally associated with the good guys, but takes a neutral standpoint helping both good and evil sides when they need it most. He was originally packaged as an evil warrior, and different mediums have provided radically differing interpretations of his character.
* Battle Cat is He-Man's faithful feline companion, a fighting armored tiger who carries him into battle. When He-Man is in the form of Prince Adam, Battle Cat is Cringer, and in this form he lacks the bravery of Battle Cat and runs away from just about everything.

1983

* Man-E-Faces is an actor who can change his faces from a human face to a beast face to a robot face. He also adopts the abilities and traits of the face he puts on.
* Ram-Man is a sturdy warrior with poor verbal skills who runs down most of his obstacles. In the 1983 original series, he was rather short and resembled a dwarf, whereas in the 2002 series he was a very large man with a disproportionately small head. He was also shown to be afraid of the dark.
* Zoar, the fighting falcon, was depicted in early portrayals as a separate character from the Sorceress.

1984

* Orko is an inept magician from the parallel dimensional world of Trolla. He moves around by levitating and is often the comic relief. His face is concealed by a floppy hat and heavy scarf; according to legend his race only shows their visage to their one true love.
* Buzz-Off is an anthropomorphic bee. His species are known as Andreenids in the 2002 version.
* Mekaneck can stretch his neck to incredible lengths, which enables him to serve as a scout. Man-At-Arms was the one who gave him his extending prosthetic neck.
* Fisto is an extra-strong warrior with an enlarged metal right hand. Generally considered to be the strongest warrior aside from He-Man.

1985

* Sy-Klone is a mechanical-like being who can generate winds by rotating his torso or arms.
* Roboto is a robotic warrior. In the 2002 version, he was a chess-playing robot built by Man-At-Arms who upgraded himself to a fighter.
* Moss Man is a plant man who can revive dead plants and manipulate herbivorous matter, mostly moss. In the 2002 series he was a quiet pastoral type and a sort of urban legend, who resided in the Eternian forests.

1986

* Snout Spout is an elephant-headed Eternian who can squirt water out of his trunk. Only appeared in the She-Ra cartoon, but took part of the He-Man comic book as an Eternian warrior.
* Extendar is mechanical-like being and Master of Extension.
* Rio Blast is an Eternian gunslinger with hidden weapons in him.
* Rokkon is a rock being who can turn into a rock for defense. Only appeared once in the She-Ra cartoon.
* Stonedar is a rock being who can also turn into a rock for defense. Only appeared in the She-Ra cartoon.

1987

* Clamp Champ is a royal guardsman and Master of Capture. Had the new cartoon continued, Clamp Champ was the next heroic warrior to debut.
* Rotar is an Eternian and Master of Hyper-Spin. He was once a guard at the Royal Palace of Eternos City until one of Skeletor's attacks left him injured. Man-At-Arms saved him with one of his latest inventions.
* Gwildor, who only appeared in the Masters of the Universe movie, is the dwarf-like Thenurian and the inventor of the Cosmic Key.
* The Sorceress of Castle Grayskull is the mystic guardian of Castle Grayskull, who granted Prince Adam the power to become He-Man. She cannot leave the castle for very long lest she revert to her falcon form, Zoar (In the 2002 series, she is not powerless outside the castle in her human form as she demonstrated when she magically defended a village against an evil warlord.) She is also the mother of Teela, who is destined to inherit her place, although Teela does not yet know this.
* King Randor is the ruler of Eternia and father of Prince Adam.
* He-Ro was the most powerful wizard in the universe. He existed in Pre-Eternia. (only prototype pictures exist).
* Eldor was He-Ro's mentor. (only prototype pictures exist).
* Tytus was a heroic giant warlord with long blonde hair. He aided He-Ro in Pre-Eternia.(figure released in Italy only).

* Dree-Elle is a female trollan and Orko's girlfriend.
* Lizard Man is a small reptilian who is always eager to fight Skeletor. He can climb fast and run great distances.
* Koldar is a gladiator-like warrior and ally of He-Man. He flies around on his horse, Shadow Master, an armored flying horse with the ability to blend into any shadow.
* Granamyr is the oldest and wisest of the dragons of Darksmoke, an ancient dragon kingdom on Eternia. Granamyr greatly distrusts humans after a great war between the dragons and humans centuries ago, but he strongly respects He-Man, who has convinced him there is still some hope for humankind. Granamyr is one of, if not the, most powerful magic users on Eternia, and is apparently possessed of such extraordinary power even Skeletor would not dare challenge him.
* The heroic Meteorbs were members of the Rock People who could transform from meteors to animal forms. They appeared among Stonedar and Rokkon in the Marvel Comics.
* Queen Marlena is Queen of Eternia and mother of Prince Adam. The original cartoon series indicated she suspected her son was also He-Man.
* Detective Lubic is a detective from the MOTU movie who ended up living on Eternia.
* Julie Winston is a teenage girl from the planet Earth, featured in the MOTU movie.
* Kevin Corrigan is a teenage boy from the planet Earth, featured in the MOTU movie.

Evil Warriors

1981-82

* Mer-Man, a fish-man and Ocean Warlord who controls sealife.

1983

* Evil-Lyn, a powerful witch with the usual complement of malevolent powers.
* Tri-Klops, a 3-eyed hunter and swordsman who can see in any direction. He can also see through solid objects with his "Gamma vision."
* Trap-Jaw, a weapons expert and cyborg with a metal jaw which can bite through anything. In the 2002 series it was demonstrated that the more metal he eats the stronger he becomes, and one episode focused on a quest to eat the strongest chemical element in Eternia, which was forged and guarded by a group of subterranean dwellers. He was defeated by tricking him into eating a special alloy that weakened him.
* Faker, a duplicate of He-Man. (The toy version is done in blue with orange hair and outfit, with the backstory that he is a robot duplicate that didn't work out. In one annual he was a deformed clone. However in his sole appearance in the cartoon he was a magical creation identical to He-Man apart from glowing eyes.)
* Panthor is Skeletor's evil feline companion, a giant panther who serves as an evil counterpart to Battle Cat.

1984

* Jitsu, an Asian-like Eternian with a giant arm and a metal right hand capable for karate chops.
* Whiplash, an alligator-like creature whose tail is a formidable weapon.

* Kobra Khan, a snake man who can emit a sleeping gas. In the 2002 series, he spits acid instead and is a servant of King Hiss.

* Screeech is a barbaric bird that works for Skeletor.

1985

* Two-Bad, a character with two heads that constantly argue between themselves. The UK comics named the two heads "Blue Face" and "Yellow Band." In the 2002 version, he was two bounty hunters binded together into one by Skeletor after they failed to work together to stop He-Man.
* Spikor, a humanoid covered in spikes and has a trident for a left arm.
* Stinkor, an anthropomorphic skunk with magical control over his own stench (he only appeared in the written comics and 2002 animated version, never the original series). His action figure actually smelled of patchouli oil, one of only two scented toys Mattel produced (the other was Moss Man). In the 2002 version, he was once a Peeleezean named Odiphus who was mutated by an explosion in Tri-Klops' lab. Sorceress tells that in the time of the Great War, Odiphus betrayed his people and was exiled.

1987

* Ninjor is a ninja warrior who works for Skeletor. Not to be confused with the Power Rangers character of the same name.
* Scare Glow is a skeleton who glows in the dark.
* Twistoid is a robotic minion of Skeletor. Skeletor stole the blueprints for the machine Man-At-Arms used to create Rotar and used the machine to create Twistoid. He and Rotar are rivals.
