In short-term the answer is no.
But if you want to create a really good reputation, want to make people think your business is reliable and trustworthy, if you want to develop your company through years, then I would say every single step is important, as every mistake counts.. You treat one customer wrorng and he goes telling others... Word of mouth, you know?
Treat others as you would like to be treated, even in business.

It depends upon how you define success and what you want to succeed in. I suppose it also matters "who's" business ethics, because there are some people who I would assert are very successful in managing a Profit and Loss statement, but unhappy, discontented, and finding it difficult to keep relationships.
Following ethical business processes are not required, and possibly some are able to achieve uncommon results by unethical practice.. At the end of the day, you are accountable for the good and bad things you do. If you define success as doing more good , more fairly, and above borad, then yes it is necessary.

That would depend on your definition of success. If its just making profit then no. If its making profit and being a good and decent person than yes. Its all up to you.
