my hamster has what i think to be wet tail, only his tail is dry, he has this clicking noise coming from him, i assume its coming from his head, he hasnt been droped by me, however, he was abused when i rescued him, my problem is now when i pick him up to see if hes still ok, there is this residue on my hand, and i assume thats diahreah, but the other thing is, he sleeps in the wheel alot, i have him 6 drops of dritail today, and it doesnt seem to have worked, as he was better before i gave him some, he has goten worse, now he has this sems like its wet patch of fur on his back, away from the tail aeria, its about the size of a button battery, a small patch of what appears to be wet fur, only its not wet, i cant dry it off. should i remove his wheel? only to stop him from over exerting himself? i dont know, ive never had a sick hamster before, i changed his cage and cleened everything there when i gave him some meds, he has a cage mate, should i put the sick one in a box for a cage?

i mean to isolate him from his cagemate, who isnt sick, make a box into a cage with food water and a house, like a wooden dome, so he doesnt get his friend sick. they never fight, gorby tries to steel something his friend has, but his friend never fights back, hes a nonviolent hamster, and gorby just complains, never pushes him or anything. its gorby thats sick. im keeping the room fairly warm too, is that a good idea?

from what you said, if it is wait tail, the other hamster should have gotten it too.
even though you may not see or notice it, the other hamster is possibly mugging Gorby.
if you can afford it, get Gorby another cage, give him water, food and warmth and let him rest and, hopefully, recover.
if you can't afford a 2nd cage, you may seriously want to consider finding Gorby another home.

good luck!
