Mny people have ended injured that way and a good number of them have ended up in prison, with the yob either suing them for damages or applying to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board for a handout. You can only hit people in self defence, as far as the law is concerned, and even then you can only use force to a reasonable degree. Next time you spot a yob in action -- call the police. Or, if you are sufficiently big and strong and you are sure that the offence warrants it -- make a citizen's arrest and march him off to the police station yourself. You'd better make sure that he's committed an arrestable offence, though, or more trouble might be forthcoming -- for you!

As good as an idea it sounds, you'd proberly get open season on anyone below 30 who's doing as little as standing around in a group in a public area. Far too many people class anyone as yobs for as little as that and think they should be smacked over the head with something for it.

I hope so. The problem is that yobs are don't have too much responsibilities and lots of protection from THE LOW. That creates a hoax between groups of yobs. if you are not accountable for your actions what will happened?

Suppose if we can, what are we trying to achieve, in terms of helping the guy? I think counselling would do better in the long run. If we have a law like that, its a very grey line drawn and there will be chaos everywhere. ;)

Yes. I would suggest a pickaxe in the head - just once.

That should be enough to curtail him of his anti-social activities for a while (if not permanently)
