im looking for a new cell phone battery. and my takes a 3.7 1000mah from the original manufacturer. but i see a lot of replacement batteries that are compatible with my phone, but the difference is the mah.

also what is the difference with 3.6v versus 3.7

3.7 and 3.6 are voltage ratings, and voltage ratings that close don't matter, they are the same,, usually it's due to the battery chemical make up,, diff make ups have diff cell voltages. The mah rating stands for Milli ampere hour, milli meaning 1/1000,, so a 1000 mah battery can source 1 A (1000mA) for one hour or 500ma for two hours,, or 100ma for 10 hours. The mah rating is the strength rating of the battery,, the higher the better. The higher the mah, the longer the battery lasts. and (about 10% longer)

nah, it shouldn't hurt anything. at the most, you may have to charge them twice before they get fully charged - and the 2nd time will be much shorter time period
