We all have knowledge - of various subjects. If you have specific knowledge of the law you can use that to be corrupt. But knowledge in itself doesn't corrupt or we would all be corrupt. Ultimate power - in a dictatorship corrupts - but that usually comes through force and not knowledge. Hitler cannot be described as knowledgeable. But his evil power ended the lives of millions and still causes misery today.

Yes! We should all be happy, simple people, living off the land and dying of the common cold!
No, I'm just kidding.
Power corrupts those who are knowledgeable but weak at heart. Knowledge is important, without the people who teach and create we would be left with those who are ignorant and work themselves to power through brute force and little brain. Scary?

I thought it was absolute power that corrupted therefore absolute knowledge would be a bad thing, but as a little knowledge is a dangerous thing I guess we need to find a middle ground of semi-knowledge.

It is not the knowledge and power that is forever corrupting. It is determined by how you use them. Now most people use them to better themselves and other thru education, To teach other people love and self respect and how to be creative. But then again it is used by other member of mankind that are not so nice to gain more wealth and power to be used for self gain in a self indulgent manner. So really it all boils down to how it is used, and nothing is truly bad or good until is it used in correctly.

Depending in whose hands the knowledge lies, Like we only use 8% of or brain. What would the average joe blow do with access to the other 92% people would make bombs out of a saftey pin and wire, people could create marvilous systems to help humantity but also ones that would kill and mame people. Knowledege without tolerance or wisdiom is a dangerous thing.
Pose a question what would you do if you could use the other 92% of you brain?

Power corrupts but it is only total power that corrupts totally. If knowledge is power, it is not possible to have total knowledge (ie. know everything), one cannot be totally corrupted by knowledge.

Therefore you have nothing to fear from knowledge
