If you're aware of it you see reference/homage of his work in almost every film or TV show aswell as in advertising and in the use of music (eg the new sony TV add with the paint ripped off the opening fight scene in Clockwork Orange and all space scenes use the music from 2001 a Space Odyssey).

I'm not a big Stanley Kubrick fan. Or should I say follower. Regardless, you are correct. And I think he WILL be remembered in the same light as other artistically pioneering directors. As you indicate, his work has much influence on our pop culture, just like Michelangelo. Just like Shakespeare. So to compare him with them makes sense to me. I did like the 'feel' or should I say 'chill' of his direction on 'The Shining'. :-)

I think Stanley Kubrick is great and all, but compared to Michelangelo? Come on now thats just silly. I guess wait a couple hundred years and ask the future, because Iam sure back in their day no one thought Michelangelo was a genius, like people do now.

He must be considered in a distinct mild because his expression is largely freer, a lot less bounded. to ask if he must be considered interior an same mild as Michelangelo or Shakespeare is to diminish the information of (his) creativity.

No.

Sure, he was immensely talented. But Shakespeare? Michelangelo? Clearly you've just been watching 2001 since you are high.
