FOR THE ATTENTION OF JOE SOAP'S SPONSORS
You will be glad to know that despite his aches and pains, his rusty bike, and pressing engagements elsewhere, Joe still managed to cover two hundred miles in less than six hours.(adjust figures). Could those of you who encouraged him to participate in the TOUR DE KENT( correct if necessary) to raise funds for (SPCA?) by sponsoring him, kindly pay their dues to Fred Bloggs at the bar who will cross their names of the list. Many thanks.

Just do an advertisement for the notice board of the pub saying what you intend to do. Then print some sponserships forms. So people can pledge so much a mile for a cycle ride or whatever or pledge a fixed amount. Then take your sponser forms around the pub and ask people to sponser you in person. Some you will have to chase for the money after the event - some will prefer to pay a fixed amount up front - so give them the option.

Use a picture of Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire shouting down the phone, with "SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!" printed underneath with details of the sponsorship and a cut off date when it you need it all in. Just remember to be prepared to jump across and rip it down in case Tom decides to make an impromptu visit to your local, you don't want him suing you for using his image...
