You can buy a car in the Philippines with that money plus a 2 week vacation in Boracay in a 5 star hotel.
Yes, it is too much for a 2 -week holiday.

$4000.00 is far to much money to take to the philippines, besides you have to report to customs when you arrive how much money you have on your person and $3000.00 is the limit. I go to the philippines every chance i get and stay for 21 days at a time. I only take between $1500.00 to $1800.00 and I always bring a big part of that money back with me. You have to realize that $3000.00 usd exchanges for about $ 150.000 php, thats a lot of money in the philippines.
