Are you referring to email or snailmail?

As you used junk as opposed to spam, I'm guessing at snailmail, so do what I do...

If it's addressed to you, return it uncompleted in the prepaid envelope thats usually supplied.

If it's bulk mail, or addressed to "the occupier". Dump it in the nearest mailbox. If enough people do this, the postal service will eventuallyget fed up & refuse to deliver such junk.

In all other cases, dump it in a mailbox marked "return to sender". Postage will be paid by whoever sent it.

Just write on the envelope 'Return To Sender, Not Known At This Address'. It's the ONLY way that works.

The Mail Preference Service that a few people have suggested does NOT work at all, and neither does the Telephone Preference Service.

set your your e-mail to only accept your contacts. Then once you have read the important stuff, you can quickly scan your junk mail folder. If you set it up right they can be automatically deleted after one day.You can of course open each one individually, and request to come of their mailing list, but this takes forever, and most companies put you right back on anyway. And here's a wacky idea, change your e-mail address and send one block message to all your contacts, and stop giving out your e-mail address, unnecessarily.

Search for the MPS on the internet (there's also a TPS for phones) once you register after about 4mths you'll notice it'll stop or get reduced.

I think they state allow up to 4mths anyway. I've signed up for it and put the last owners names of my house down as I get a lot of debt mail of theirs. Its doing the job.
