HELLO...
Sounds like your going to be having loads of FUN. I think I have some good ideas:
* If you dont want to be to over the top can I suggest you buy a corset and team it up with a pair of wide leg plain black trousers. Add a pair of heels and if your hair is long enuf put it in ringlets.
If you go for this look you will look as if you are dressed for the occasion, but wont look like a total idiot if no1 else makes the effort. You will also look sexy and will be able to walk down the street with out people thinking your going to a fancy dress.
* If your brave and really wanting to make the effort can I suggest going to your local fancy dress shop. As Hallowen is only around the corner they will be stocked up of outfits including something you can work with! Corset, Fish net tights and a feather bower!!!!
HAVE A FAB TIME AND I HOPE I HAVE BEEN OF SOME HELP!
OHHHH and don't forget you can really go for it and look the part with the right kind of make up. Borrow someones Moulin Rouge DVD and take a look at the make up worn and try get some ideas!!

haha!....
1. get yourself the movie 'Moulin rouge"
2. watch the music video 'Lady Marmalade'-Pink , Christina Augielera, Kim & Maya
3. Anything from lacy corsets and guters are perfect for the setting......and remember, not raunchy, tarty corsets,.....pick one that's classy yet sexy, like the 1 Nicole Kidman wears on the swing in "Moulin Rouge".

Anything with a corset - just make sure it's heavy and elaborate, not cheap and thin.
Pick an era, as "french" is very broad.
